It's not a "demand" in the sense that Lindor might be stomping his feet, raising his voice, making threats and throwing an all-around tantrum as he asks for what he's askin' for. It's a contract term. Lindor's request for an amount of money is "a demand" in the language of contracts. "Offer' is self-explanatory. So you've got an offer and a demand. And when the offer and demand are the same, that'll lead to a contract.

Exactly. Lindor is not demanding whole lot more than I'm comfortable with giving him. Assuming Cohen feels the same way, I don't see why meeting him in the middle won't get it done to both sides' satisfaction.

Would the Mets have selected David Wright first over Aaron Heilman if they didn't have a compensation sandwich pick that year? I have no idea. Maybe the Mets had Wright higher up on their board --- but they drafted Wright second only because they thought that Wright would, likely, still be available.

I know it's probably sour grapes but read there was some concerns around Lindors effort last year in Cleveland. I try and remind myself of these incidents among the barrage of "best ever" stories that invariably accompany the new guy/rookie

he made a quote to Mets reporters about not giving it 100% in the weight room in the second half last year.



This guy at least thinks that was just an excuse.

He's worth about $15 billion. You could steal $100M from Cohen and he wouldn't even notice without scrutinizing his statements. He can buy anything he wants. Jeez. $30M a year for Lindor to Cohen is like pizza pie money to me and you.



Oh, and Cohen can sign Lindor and bemoan letting Bauer get away all at the same time, which was my original main point a little while ago in the Bauer Douchebag thread.

Whatever Lindor does won't be enough for a good chunk of Mets fans unless he wins the triple crown.



I predict Lindor won't disappoint me. Is there any other team going into 2021 with a better middle infield combo, at least on paper, than the Mets duo of McNeil and Lindor?

I think Tatis and Cronenworth in San Diego are probably the main competition.



Bichette and Biggio in Toronto are comers as well, with even more name power.



I'd probably go Mets though. San Diego, Toronto, and the Yankees all follow. Dodgers after that. Hard to tell how much should be made of Gleyber Torres' lousy 2020. Also hard to tell how much to dock Correa and Altuve for being Astros.
