Martinez is hurt b/c he flubbed a grounder, stumbled to his left, and the disinterested, overpaid, umpire who was flat-footed and not watching the game, failed to move. Robot umps/lasers at every position, please.

Suck it up, buttercup. I tore my meniscus in 2011 and I was able to watch baseball the very next day.

I'm pretty sure Johan through his 2-0 complete game shutout against the Marlins (2008, game 161) on a torn MCL as well.

What a bunch of babies these current players are.

What ever happened to "just rub some tobacco juice on it and get out there and play?

But now that I think of it, what ever happened to tobacco juice in baseball?

Is it outlawed formally?

You hear “dead arm” and you're told it's nothing.

You here “sore arm” and you're told we'll see.

Not a sore arm here, per se, but soreness is in play.

"Sore arm" is one thing. "Sore elbow" is quite another.

Especially when accompanied by numerous notes and Tweets from beat reporters treating his missing Opening Day as a fait accompli.

I think that "competition" was Lucco's to lose. But yeah, if this injury is as some are reporting, it's Peterson who gets his head above water.

Others besides Moto vying to get into that discussion include Mike Montgomery, Jerad Eickhoff, Corey Oswalt, Harol Gonzalez, and Yennsy Diaz.

Carrasco's elbow is better...but his right hamstring, initially reported as strained, is apparently torn. That's six to eight weeks at least.

I feel like Carrasco had a REALLY unbreakable preexisting appointment or something during that first week or two of the season. If so... I admire his determination.

Torn is ... bad.

But partially torn is better, and that is what his reportedly is.

And that is painful experience talking.

"Quietly"--were they supposed to call a press conference? Maybe they'd cry on camera? A tweet with Sad Mr. Met?

Hell of a job, BVW!

FLUSHING, N.Y., April 27, 2021 – The New York Mets today announced that they have selected Therabody™, the innovator in tech wellness and the creators of percussive therapy, as an official recovery and wellness technology partner. The Mets will be integrating Therabody's percussive massage therapy device Theragun®, pneumatic compression device RecoveryAir, and its industry-leading research and education into the team's programming to enhance overall player and team performance.

“Therabody products have been a welcome addition to our player's preparation and recovery routines,” says Jim Cavallini, Mets Director of Performance and Sports Science. “The quality of the products as well as their range of applications have made for a quick integration into our daily practices.”

Committed to innovation, technology, and research and development, Therabody's ecosystem of wellness solutions are trusted by professional athletes and sports teams worldwide. Through this partnership, Therabody will provide the Mets with effective training and recovery devices and protocols.

“I am thrilled to be partnering with the New York Mets,” explains Dr. Jason Wersland, Founder and Chief Wellness Officer of Therabody. “We are looking forward to supporting the Mets in ensuring that their players not only use the best-in-class training and recovery solutions that we develop, but that they also have access to the most innovative research and methodology to help them play their best every time they step onto the field.”

Therabody will build a custom section in the dugout for Mets players to use devices -- such as the Theragun PRO and Wave Roller -- during games and practices, and will provide custom carts of devices in the bullpen. Therabody recently announced the launch of RecoveryAir, its clinical pneumatic compression device, which will also be integrated into the team's recovery routine. Additionally, Therabody will enroll the Mets' players, coaches and medical experts in Therabody University, the company's education division, on ways to effectively take care of themselves and optimize the benefits of Therabody's devices and solutions.

Sounds like recovery hot air to me.

What's next, blowing smoke up the player's arse?
