Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Hi, I'm Matt Allan. I recently cleared up for the media that I prefer "Matt" to "Matthew," which is as much news as I've made yet in my short career. A high-value prospect, I've had a little trouble getting my reps in. I took a few weeks to sign, but then the Mets started using me real, real ginger-like, deploying me as a starter but keeping me on the most miserly of pitch counts, so I appeared in six games, but only logged 10 1/3 innings."That's OK!" I thought. "There's always 2020!"But there wasn't a 2020. Not for me, certainly, and so here I am hitting big league camp with only 10 1/3 innings under my belt. But I did mow 'em down in instructional camp with Noah Syndergaard's number and the corporate rock BLARIN'!What does 2021 look like for me, young paduan that I am.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 See you in ‘22. No way they call this kid up early and lose a year of service time.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 Brooklyn s opening day starter. Has a good start, promoted to Bingo in the summer, elbow problems, TJS, see ya in 24
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 A ball, maybe a little AA. Gets traded in July for a shitty middle reliever who winds up with an ERA over 8, and then he wins the 2023 ROY Award with his new team.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 Geez, I hope those days are behind us. I hope at least that the shitty reliever keeps his ERA in the sevens.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 2, 2021 Author Posted March 2, 2021 The Mets flip-flopped their whole draft strategy to get this guy.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 Yeah, I think he'll be around for a while. And if he gets traded, it will be for an impact player, unless his star dims, of course.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2021 Posted March 2, 2021 Starts the year at St. Lucie, spends the summer getting to know Coney Island backwards and forwards, nice work if you can get it. Doesn't crack the top 50 in any 2022 top prospect lists, but comes close enough to keep the team optimistic about him.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Nothing Metly in 2022. I just read dude got a $2.5 million signing bonus and it's thethird largest for a third round pick ever. Attaboy, don't spend it all in one place.
