Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 I've never been more pissed off following a 9th inning/2-out game tying HR before.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Calling a guy whose body rotates as he dodges a pitch toward his head for swinging is some Little League umping.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Considering that these new extra-inning rules reward teams that hit well w/RiSP, we really stand no chance in extras this season.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Once they fell behind again I stopped to eat and forgot about it. Returned just in time to see Davis cross home. Good win for the good guys
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 I like how the Yankees only sent two batters to the plate in the top of the tenth.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Worked out well. Piss Missile Pete sent em home happy. I mean, you know, we're already watching in our homes and stuff, but you get me. Oh fuck off, don't look at me like that.

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 That was Pete Alonso's first ever major league walk-off home run. Wilmer Flores has, like, a zillion of them.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 I wonder, if you're going to pants a pitcher and steal a win, is there any pitcher that is more satisfying to do it to than Chapman?Historically, I'd say taking a game from Roger Clemens and John Rocker is one and two as far as the best-feeling pitchers to come back against, but Aroldis Chapman has got to be up there.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 May 7, 2012. Bottom of the ninth. Two on. Two outs. Two strikes. Rookie Jordany Valdespin, just off a plane-ride from Buffalo, hits a pinch-hit walk off game-winning three run homer for his first major league hit off of the detestable Jon Papelbon.Pie-in-the-face from Met pie-man, Justin Turner, followed.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 He was a year away from knowing how a John Buck pie tasted.

Valdy's homer off of Papelbon was on the road in Philly, and so couldn't have been a walk-off.Now the "Buck" homer -- Valdy's grand slam the following season, that one was a walk-off. And Buck's post-game treat was more like a punch in the face disguised as a pie in the face.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLR17xH2ZbEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLR17xH2ZbEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNRHW1xNAZghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNRHW1xNAZghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLoW6pMoRUghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLoW6pMoRUg
