ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Peterson & Ramirez look to split the gameBeyond that, Metsies, play every game like its' your last56 games to go
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 The 6'6" lefty was originally drafted by the SAWX and he turned them down for college (U of Oregon). He was later drafted #1 by the Mets and he signed with them.Later
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 24 years old. Pitched last year in Double A Binghamton.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Author Posted July 28, 2020 I guess asking Dom to play LF for a slumping Davis is not happening
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 I think we are a little early to say anyone is 'slumping' and certainly early to downgrade the defense like that because of it
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Part of this has to do with my brain still needing time to re-adjust to baseball mode after so many months away (or maybe just senility), but I don't recall ever having heard of Erasmo Ramirez even though he's been in the league every year since 2012. Partly that may have to do with him being in Seattle and Tampa most of that time but, still, 192 games pitched including 92 starts.Oddly, his BB-Ref picture is one of him in a NYM hat although he doesn't seem to have been part of the organization even at a lower level.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 (edited) I have, but that's mostly because of fantasy baseball, and my tendency to stream starting pitchers therein.Bloopy inning nets Mets three. They'll... um... need more, I'm guessing. Edited July 28, 2020 by Guest
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Didn't know Peterson threw a curveball.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Author Posted July 28, 2020 Off to a good start. The trend is your friend
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 He's working pretty well with what he's got... but the stuff all seems pretty "meh." Like, passable, but not impressive.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Erasmo was with the Mets like a week ago. Our defense is pretty shitty
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Okay, the slider looked pretty good against JD Martinez on 3-2.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 This year's edition of the Sox make for really welcoming hosts. Terrible baserunning. Thanks for the outs, fellas!

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Peterson seems to know what he's doing out there. His stuff isn't overpowering, but it'll work.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Wow, you could hear that 'clang' off the Pesky Pole.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 The sounds of the empty ballpark are the most fun part.Lefty Specialist wrote:Peterson seems to know what he's doing out there. Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 That was just a lazy throw by McNeil.5th game in and the 'Plays Not Made' tally is already starting to grow.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Our sexecution is horrible this year. Very lucky to be playing a club that's not even trying.I had to look up who was managing these guys.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 It looks like Betances is going to set up Diaz. I'd like to see the Mets score another six or seven runs before that happens.

LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 Thanks to some first-pitch aggression from Smiley and the Squirrel. A little weird how prolific our lefty swingers have been in Fenway, innit?

Make that I hope. But whatever, it worked.Good debut, kid.Later
