Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 We've got ourselves a ballclub! In theory!
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 Lotta fun on a cold gloomy morning!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 The most [CROSSOUT]amazing[/CROSSOUT] amazin' thing about that was just the act of finding identical sextuplets who are musically inclined in the first place.I mean, once you do that, teaching them the M-t-M theme is pretty mundane.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 "Hmm...I could do an arrangement of 'Meet the Mets' on flute, clarinet, and 4 different saxes, but it just won't sound right without trombone flourishes, and I just don't know how to play trombone."
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 I think JCL is our resident trombonist.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 I can play bassoon, which means I can theoretically play bari sax. Theoretically.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Outstanding! Thank you for posting.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 As a bonist i can also fake the baritone. I never realized how easy if is to play "pushbutton" brass
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Reed players generally find it workable to jump to other reeds and train themselves up quickly, so you may frequently see the sax player in a band pull out a flute. That's true of "mouthpiece" brass to a lesser extent. Boners and baris use the same mouthpiece size, so it's a quicker jump between them than, say, from trombone to French Horn.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Yes I couldn't get a sound out of a french horn or a trumpet.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 I got "tagged" on facebook by an actual musician to perform this myself and here's what we came up with. Wou;ld be cool to turn this into a "thing":[YOUTUBE]U0_wdf1LiaU[/YOUTUBE]
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Buy him a Marshall stack, he rocks!
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Took awhile to find it but I knew I had this somewhere![FIMG=850]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/mtmsheetmus.jpg[/FIMG]
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Despondent Ivan should be in every version of these videos. Viewers anticipating his guitar work somewhere, then he just gets up and trudges off each time. Imagine him in the brass ensemble above, but just chilling. I'm dying thinking about it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 It's true. Despondent Ivan should be the most universal of memes.https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2020/04/ivancapinet.png>
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 No one, no matter how cool they look wielding a new axe, should besubjected to Nancy Pants wagging her finger.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 I fear it's only a matter of time before Despondent Ivan meets up with Sniveling Jeffrey somewhere in Memeville.

Was that a coincidence or is that Mets video going viral?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 As I relayed there seems to be an attempt anyway at a Meet the Mets viral thing, with the goal of supporting charity.I got tagged by a friend who did a mellow acoustic version and I tagged 3 musician friends who I'll hope to do the same. I probably should tagged 10
