Now there's a name for a Little League team. No copyrights on that name, I'd bet.

Rain scheduled to begin on 10PM, that'll be approximately 2h 50m into the game.

For most of baseball's history, most games would be over by that point.

These days there's barely a 1-in-4 chance that a given game will be.

It would be nice to get this one in.

If there's a replay review in this game, I'm assuming the 1st Base ump DJ Reyburn and Home Plate ump CB Bucknor will likely be on the headphones to Chelsea.

After all, both have had a ton of practice using microphones.

And I'll give myself another 20 minute ban for that one

Matz came up and in on him, and gave him about as close a shave as you can give a guy without breaking his jaw. Harper somehow dodged it with his head, but got hit on the hand. Fortunately, the knob of the bat took about 60% of it and the meaty side of his hand seemed to take the rest.

Looked like it hurt and will swell up, but I don't think he broke anything. As he dodged the ball, his helmet flew off, and has his head jerked back, his mane of hair flew in one direction and then another, and my God, it was fabulous!

Todd Pratt, by the way — as the Mets score the first run — is a rather cherubic figure in retirement. Still looks like a big goofy kid.

Matz in cruise mode... but at 75 pitches through 4. Let's hope Mickey learns from the other time.

Calgon, take him away.

109 pitches (essentially what should be 7-1/3 IP) is far too many for not even getting through the 6th (5-2/3)

Although, in fairness to Matz, he got a bunch of shit hits against him. Even two of the three XBHs (both of Segura's doubles) were cheapies.

Brach with the bases loaded against a guy who can make contact with almost anything... I have nervous.

So right as GKR were talking about the need for NYM pitchers to go 7, and with 2-outs and no one on and on the verge of having a quick inning, Matz gives up two straight doubles and can't even finish the 6th.

And then as they added that there are really only two relievers out there whom Mickey can trust, the AB of the game (bags loaded/2-out) falls to Brad Brach and his 6.03 ERA (5.63 as a Met)
