With Wheeler on the IL, future lights-out closer for somebody else Jacob Rhame returns to haunt our dreams.

If I were in charge I'd have Rhame grow a fu manchu, select the heaviest metal I could find as his entrance music, hope throws a good inning and then plant scout/sources around the press box to remark to Sherman, Harper and Tracksuit how "dominant" he looked. The momentum will take him from there.

Down go Mazza and Guillorme.

Up come Nogosek and Bashlor.

Plus Rhame is reinstated.

Dom to the IL with a stress reaction in the left foot. Aaron Altherr returns.

With the MFY pitching staff getting absolutely pureed lately, I propose:

1) Keeping Todd Frazier for the rest of this year

2) Sending the MFYs a starter of our choice (probably Noah if necessary) for Miguel Andujar who is on the IL for this year* while Todd plays third, and their top pitching prospect (Deivi Garcia) and Zack Britton.

Strike while[CROSSOUT] the iron is hot. [/CROSSOUT] you have them by the ba**s.

Its a start.

* = I'm not sure if you still can't trade a pplayer on the IL.

The original SHaM thread was about moves we would propose.

Are you suggesting they stand pat?

You can adjust your scorecards to reflect addition of Stroman, deletion of Vargas.

Dom Smith will reportedly be out of action for at least one month. This being August already, that usually means out for the rest of the season. Either way, one month or two, it's a setback.

Too bad. He had reestablished his value as a big league hitter. I think they'd like to have him come back by late September, if possible. If we're in the running for a wc, he'll be very useful. If we're not, it will important to showcase his health to the other teams, in preparation for the off-season.

Exactly. Hurts either way.

Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, a helluva town

Mazza will join the Mets there

Nogosek's been sent down

Tyler Bashlor, who's almost as awful as Jacob Rhame, has been optioned to Syracuse and will be replaced by Jacob Rhame.

It must have literally hurt Jacob Rhame to not suck last night, because he's going on the IL with elbow discomfort. Taking his spot will be Donnie Hart, new No. 68.

Cano to IL. Guillorme up in his stead.

Lockett added as 26th Met for today's twinbill.

Mets have sent down Gagnon and recalled Sewald because, apparently, they don't recall how Sewald pitches.

Tim Peterson DFA'd. Reached for comment, Peterson admitted he's considering a new profession, "because once somebody says they'd rather have Paul Sewald instead of you, fuck."

Gsellman and his sore triceps to the IL. Lockett, who conveniently happens to be in KC, to the active roster.
