Noah Syndergaard takes the hill for the Mets first 2019 match against Philadelphia, as Aaron Nola, sporting an ERA in the Jason Vargas-as-a-Met range, opposes the invasion as best he can.

Overkill is the name of the game as everybody wears 42. And Budweiser offers this heartfelt ad at Mets.com.

I thought the Mets had a lot of turnover, but that top half of the Phils lineup features actors we mostly know from other movies: McCutcheon, Segura, Harper, and Realmuto.

I don't know if you're getting this, but MLB.tv just played a HORRIBLE tribute-to-Jackie Robinson commercial featuring Mario Lopez, who was more or less the darkest-hued person in the spot.

A sweet little rally, mostly with two outs, and the Mets are up 2-0.

I had forgotten how much McCutcheon's arm had lost.

Disappointing response from Syndy last half-inning.

Thankfully, Nola is just as iffy tonight. More so, maybe. I'm guessing the wind is murder on grips?

Was getting ready to throw Ramos under the bus along with Cano. Nice, 3-0

Buck the heck? Ramos has been solid, and extra RISPy.

I'd love to see what Dickey's knuckler could do in these conditions. The Mets should sign him and get him here by the end of the game.

Or perhaps better yet, call up Mickey Jannis.

Segura had time to dive, get the ball, stand up, double-clutch, brush his teeth, file his taxes, THEN throw to first and Ramos was out by three steps. Was he hit by a piano on his way down the baseline?

They just walked Nimmo to get to you, Big Dick Energy. Punish them.

Damn Juan, just slide and stay on the bag. What's the point of popping up like that? We get a gift and give it right back.
