Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 (edited) First time a Met has come off the IL as opposed to the DL.But who will be the first to come off the IL (Injured List) and immediately get reassigned to the IL (International League)? Edited April 7, 2019 by Guest
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Get him out of there already and sign Keuchel.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Coming back on Max will be tough. But if we can get into the Nats' bullpen...Even if we signed Kuechel, when could we realistically expect him to be ready? A month? Six weeks?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 settle down Wheeler! this shit aint over.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Wayne: You know one thing that the 1984 World Series didn't have?Howie: THE CUBS! HA!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Would have been nice had they tacked one or two more from that 1st & 2nd/no-outs situation instead of screwing it up with a K (Rosario) and then the K-DP (Broxton/Davis)Broxton had no business running and Davis had even less business trotting then stopping
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Pitching change means Mike Torrez' record of most walks in a game as a Met is safe for another day.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 I changed my mind. I'm in favor of the automatic walk.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Hey! A Nimmo hit!The Mets might get run off the field despite out-hitting the Nats.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 A three-run homer by that Alonzie kid and 12-1 is now 12-6.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Rosenthal brings his infinite ERA into the game and instantly hits Dom Smith.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Rosey is pulled after two batters and still no outs.Tying run on triple deck for the Mets.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Let's make em work for this
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 McNeil becomes the fourth Met hit by a pitch this afternoon, starting their coming rally of at least six runs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 ConfortoBOOM! and we have eight unanswered runs. Two outs left to get three more to tie it. In comes Doolittle.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Alright. We got them to call in the closer I n a game they were leading by 11 runs 4 outs ago

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Good News: - If you're going to pitch poorly it's good to do so on a day when you have to face the likes of Scherzer instead of blowing a good outing only to run up against his better one- Some nice power hitting in the later innings- We got 'em fraidy-scared there towards the end and in doing so confirmed to them that their bullpen isn't merely bad, but is in fact truly horrific- That's now 6 earned off Scherzer in 14 innings over two starts. And the Nats are now just 4-4 and that's only after starting Scherzer three times in eight games. They won't be able to do that all season.Bad News: - Wheeler Suxxed, Peterson Suxxed, and Avilan wasn't much better. I mean, it would have been nice to make them earn some of those runs instead of just handing them over.- We wasted a good comeback only after falling into a virtually impossible deficit- 4-2 vs the Nats during the opening week of the season would sound a helluva lot better than the current 3-3, especially after starting 2-0- this, coupled with the Phillies win, dropped us out of 1st place (sss)

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 Boy, those two at bats by Rosario and Broxton in the 8th inning made me sad. Two guys on base for each of them, down 12-6, and they are both swinging from their heels trying to hit a six run homer.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 The other thing about that is the two big Mets rallies were sorta ended by homers.Just keep the line movin', dudes. Great things happen when you set up the guy behind you.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Well, Wheeler not so much. I'm kind of hoping to not have to replace him.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 i meant the bullpen guys. yeah Wheeler needs to turn shit around
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Simply couldn't find the plate. That's kind of a requirement for a major league pitcher.
