Hey man. I'm Gregor Blanco. I don't know who you think you are, but I'm a major league outfielder, with two championship rings, and I'm possibly the father of genetics, too. I'm not sure.



I'm on the fringes now, 35 and coming to the Mets on a minor league deal and hoping to win a job out of camp. But the truth is that I was kinda fringey even in my prime. Low power, medium average, good defense but nothing to reset your lineup over. But Bruce Bochy won two championships with me more or less playing every day in the outfield, so maybe he knows something you don't.



Cool Gregor Blanco trivia: I have a twin brother named Gregory and a younger brother named Gregsman. And you thought Endy Chavez had a weird mother.



But I'm not here for trivia. I'm here to kick as much ass as I can while I can. So be it. But how much ass will that be? If you have an idea, maybe you can clue me in.

I don't forsee much for him but those invariably wind up being the guys you see. They also issued a dignified uni number (7) so I'm not crossing him off the list unless or until we sign Bryce Harper, then I'll reassess.



Six games including one start, 11 PAs, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, 2-10 including a double in his first Mets at-bat and a run scored. He'll get released, but re-signed with Syracuse, then get injured, and then retire.

You're probably right. We're going to look back in September in be like "how did Gregor Blanco get 140 AB?"

I assume you're saying this for comedic effect, But I would wager that the signing of Harper would not have an iota of impact on Blanco's role on this team. It may impact who plays CF in Syracuse, however. But we'll never know, anyway, i guess.

If he sees any playing time, we're royally screwed. I'm going to bet he has a quiet year in Syracuse and is cut loose when someone gets promoted from AA.
