What the hell Brandon.

.660 OPS in July. .490 in August.

I think he's crossed the line from patient to timid. Swings and misses so much. Isn't hitting any HR's anymore.

Pitchers have a noticeably different approach. Fastballs up and in, breaking stuff once they get ahead in the count. Everyone in the world knows he has to adjust. I just don't know how you learn to cover that pitch.

My suggestion: Use a funny shaped bat with no knob.

Come on kid. You're better than this.

Didn't you fix Curtis this way?

Nimmo hasn't been right since the game the Dodgers kept plunking him. It could have affected his approach, or he could be dealing with a lingering injury. Or both. But it would be nice to see him snap out of it.

Cross your fingers. If history is any indication, Brandon will homer tonight.

Problem is, it overwhelmed and usurped my Plawecki mojo.

Hey, CF! What do you make of Kevin Plawecki?

What a great day.

I think I tied too much of my 2018 joy on this poor kid. All season long it's been "The Mets suck, but at least we discovered Brandon Nimmo." Since he's been struggling it's tough to even watch.

I think Plawecki's beyond hope. I really had high hopes for him based on his resurgence last year, but it looks like it wasn't sustainable.

Of my pre-season predictions (Nimmo, Plawecki, Cecchini and Super-Jack-Hammer-Wielding Juan Lagares), only Nimmo has hit.

I mean, catcher is tough. If we can get a league average hitter at that position in Plawecki, especially one that's going to take the walks and clear the pitcher (barring the DH arriving) that's not nothing.

Oh, now all of a sudden we hate Plawecki because he's terrible at baseball? Next thing you know, you'll be telling me nobody likes Jose Reyes!

Career OPS of .633 . And he can't throw runners out. Next.

bite me. Way more to catching than throwing runners out.

98 wRC+ this year, 106 last year. That's nearly half his total major league PA.

Since this thread Nimmo bumped his OPS by 30 points.

OPS for August up to .918!

But he still sucks! Sucks I tell ya!

Nimmo: (storms into locker room) Where CF at. Where he at?!?!?

OMG!!!

CF: You're a real man Brandon. A real man!

Not sure if there was an injury that lingered, if getting plunked like that took away his edge for a bit, or if he simply slumped. But it's moot now.

So CF, can you get started on Bruce while he is still rehabbing?

Nimmo could be activated today. Who goes? Perhaps Plaw goes on the Paternity List which frees up the spot. BTW, nice picture of Zamora on mets.com. http://m.mlb.com/nym/roster
Edgy has a picture of Zamora here but the Mets website does not.

Brandon Nimmo final OPS for August: 1.058.

OPS for September: 1.162

Projected OPS for October: A BAZILLION

The GM who drafted him #1 deserves kudos for his player evaluation skills.
Oh, wait.
It was Omar Minaya.
