Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2018 Author Posted September 5, 2018 I think like Minaya before him, it will be a while until we can fully assess the success of the Alderson era.Minaya was pretty widely ridiculed (and perhaps rightly so) by the end of his tenure. But his name was rehabilitated a bit when Harvey, deGrom and Matz arrived, and then Dickey and Beltran were turned into Wheeler and Syndergaard. I think the Alderson Era was pretty disappointing too, but maybe Nimmo, Conforto, McNeil and Alonso will form the core of our next winner. And Thomas Szapucki will recover and win the Cy Young.

Darn Wikepedia. There was a gap in Minaya's resume I didn't spot. They mentioned he joined San Diego in 2012, but didn't say he was an analyst for mlb.com during 2011.My bad.I guess not all editors are perfect.Later

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Nimmo's wRC+ of 149 is 8th best in baseball.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 So why is he batting eighth?
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 because... um... Callaway's a douche?

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2018 Author Posted September 24, 2018 Brandon continues to collect his walks (and his HBP's) but his hitting has taken a nosedive. BA for September is .215, and his slugging is a punchless .385. Only 2 HR's in September. That sucks Brandon. Sucks.

That won't affect his BB and HBP skills, though.
