There's a running gag in this game with Mets players continually trying to push Franco off the base.

Well, he's on the bases enough.

7-1 Phucks.

Now Bautista tries to slap the ball out of Franco's glove.

Operation Fuck-with-Franco is in full force.

"Groovy" was very appropriate in the thread title.
Gagnon grooved two tonight.

I'll take 'Synonyms for Suck' for $600 please, Alex.

Things I learned today: MLB.tv works in Canada. In fact, I can even get Blue Jays games live in Québec City.

Also, PJ Conlon is on the Mets. For some reason, I thought he'd been DFAed.

He was. We got him back. We seem to be doing that with players we DFA.

not even competitive at home against a shitty team throwing a MLB debut. Things are bad, and then there's this bad.

It's like the offense is programmed to max out at three runs per game. And then we go throwing random rookie pitchers against the wall to see what sticks.

NOT a formula for success.

My son noticed my waning enthusiasm for Mets games in the last few weeks. I chose to sit outside on my front patio playing my guitar, rather than watch the first hour of the game, and was nonplussed to find they were already down 5-0 when I tuned in.

Yep during supper I mentioned to my husband that since the Mets are playing the Phillies I could watch them and he said go ahead! And I said ‘nah’
So we both sat and read books

Every time I checked here or on a scoreboard it was worse

Because methinks other teams aren't exactly chomping at the bit to grab guys who can't even make *this* team.

Conlon was DFA'd and was grabbed off of waivers.

That team was the Dodgers, and when they subsequently tried to put him through waivers, the Mets grabbed him back.

How can anybody forget his tweets of the year?

My daughter asked me when we were going to a game.
I said "2019... maybe."

I know the feeling about going to see the Mets.
My wife, daughter and grandson will be going to a AA game in Bridgeport (forget the date). We wanted to try to see Binghamton, but the dates they'll play in Bridgeport weren't convenient for us.
