Not that I'm scoreboard watching in April but yeah... Ian Desmond with a 9th inning go-ahead solo homerun off number 42 and COL takes 3 of 4 from WSH (the last 2 without Nolan Arenado).

Mets have not yet had a walkoff win this year. Cespedes is overdue for his next home run.

Let's see how good my psychic skills are.

THERE'S your walkoff.

I haven't felt this 2015 since 2015.

Agreed. There have been other wins where I felt that way this season, too. But good teams find a way to win these type of games. It has increased my optimism about this 2018 team.

I thought Wilmer's ball was a double off the bat.
No way did I think he hit it well enough to get out, particularly in this weather, but that boy do hit the ball hard at times.

It to me looked exactly like the homer he hit that after his crying jag.

And you sent that ball away...

Mickey: "You can't make your starter pitch deeper into games."

Well, yeah, of course you can.

You may be strategically committed to not doing that, but it's been done, like, all through baseball history.

Actually I thought they would pull this out but I can certainly understand why.

This team does need to start hitting though.

Blowout victory for the Post

With his walkoff homer Sunday, Wilmer has joined an exclusive club and attained a singular distinction. Twelve Mets have ended games with home runs three or more times; only two have made a weekend of it; only Wilmer has done it in Loverboy style.

Details here.

"Terry Collins turning over in his special advisors office" Great line!

You guys are right about Familia not facing a potential save situation. But I like the line (tweaking the paragraph nonetheless).

This will be a hot topic in November when the Tabloid Cover Derby is underway, but I think I prefer the News cover, MR. FREEZE. I like that Cespedes and the barrel of Gatorade wasn't cropped out.
