Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 I'm not young. I'm not coming off a good year. I'm not well paid. Well, I am, but not by the Mets. But I have 311 homers, and that's more than anybody else in this camp. That includes Wright. I mean, Piazza left for Italy last week, so yeah, I'm king.Whether there is any more of that in my bat is an open question. But I'm here, I'm playing to win, and if I don't perform, hopefully the Mets don't waste too much time with me. How is this gonna shake out? Because there's this other husky guy next to me that might be pretty good too.[fimg=311]https://metsmerizedonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/adrian-gonzalez.png[/fimg] [fimg=389]https://cdn.newsday.com/polopoly_fs/1.17026120.1519947601!/httpImage/image.jpeg_gen/derivatives/landscape_768/image.jpeg[/fimg] [fimg=338]http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.3833868.1519243411!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_750/mets.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=362]https://metsjunkiescom.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/img_6681.jpg[/fimg]You like highlights? I got one or two of them.lmJHKHPTTpA Oh, yeah, just so you know, I'm a quiet guy. I'm not going to jump out there with my opinion if nobody asked me. But since Edgy asked me, I think President Trump's policies, rhetoric, and behavior is utterly disgraceful.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Displaced at first base ... by DAVID WRIGHT!Only it's during a joint-retirement ceremony. No, I think he gives us low-level goodness that would be pretty much what you'd guess was Smith's sophomore upside, and depending on Smith's start -- and Zimmo's -- he gradually fades away.Gets blamed for the team's 1st losing streak. Gets a big hit or two. Plays OK. Invited to the World Series parade.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 My heart holds out hope he can get back to his 2016, age-34 level: .285/.349/.435, 18 homers, 90 rib-eye steaks. My brain, however, thinks my heart has shit-for-brains and says 2018 Adrian goes something like .255/.335/.415, 12 homers, 45 RBI, 375 PA.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 I think he gets displaced by Bruce when Conforto returns and Nimmo takes Bruce's spot in the outfield.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Not a Met much after May 15th or so. His 'memories of' thread will be brief and some posters will not even open it.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I think a number like 11 would have been a smarter fit for him as it would allow for more space for the giant fork sticking out of his back. He's having a rough spring, too (8 for 40, 0 RBIs, just 1 2B and seven singles).
