  1. I don't suppose there's a way to get that naver.com page in English? Or at least Mandarin, I can't read Korean.
  2. One of the Williams sisters has a mean goatee. I wish I could grow facial hair like that. _____________________________ This post had the designation 123) Galen Cisco
  3. I knew some wise guy was going to post something like that. Accept my apologies in advance if you're being serious and not poking fun. When I was around five I saw part of a movie that I had nightmares about for over three years. Little green dots flew into things (like a microwave) and exploded. One guy got one caught on his shirt and tried to blow it off with a hair dryer...and I'm being serious, I have vivid memories of what was going on that whole day. I don't think this is a figment of my imagination. Anyway either that or the Kilmer/Madsen movie? Anyone?
  4. Um, is that little purple monster doing what I think it's doing?
  5. I saw a very short part of a movie on tv the other day. Val Kilmer was in an office and Michael Madsen came in and beat the crap out of him. Ring a bell to anyone? A cursory glance at IMDB.com and google revealed a movie, Kill Me Again, with both of them in it, but I don't know if that's it. It was a younger, thinner Madsen, and Kill Me Again is one of the earliest on Madsen's IMDB page so that's a point in its favor. Not much to go on, I know. Any help is appreciated. If you know it you get a prize. Madsen was also in The Doors, but that wasn't it, I'm guessing.

  7. Yeah, I should've put in an SC meter. I think the main confusion comes from Nymr (apparently) taking me completely seriously, making it seem like I was serious.
  8. Edgy DC wrote: I'm assuming the assumption that Sammy was isn't all that much safer than the chances that Manny was. Dumb or not. Of course neither assumption was necessarily correct. Geez can a guy have some fun or not?
  9. I was mostly kidding. I really just wanted to make fun of Sammy for taking steroids and Manny for being dumb. But I do think that steroids were a factor in Sammy's rise to stardom and subsequent fall. Do I think that means that Manny will necessarily be a stud for the next three years? Of course not. Am I willing to take the risk with the Wilpons' money? Yeah, pretty much. I'd rather have a first baseman, but I be thinkin that the Nady trade was part of the preliminary preparations for trading for Manny.
  10. I'm assuming that Sammy was on steroids and using corked bats and that Manny is too dumb to use a needle or spell the word cork. Thus, the bottom won't fall out as quickly.
  11. Me too.
  12. ="abogdan"]What's wrong with just sticking with what the Mets have? Will Wagner be that much better than Heilman next year that he's worth adding $11 million or so for the next three years to the team's payroll? Heilman was lights out as a reliever last year, striking out nearly three times as many batters as he walked, with a 2.18 ERA. He's only 27 (happy birthday!), and isn't even arbitration eligble yet. I say give him a shot, and bring in a couple of guys like 'Berto as backup just in case Heilman can't get the job done. I'd rather let Heilman compete for a starting slot and pick up a Ryan. I'm curious what people think, is Ryan > Wagner or the other way around?
  13. Bruschetta is delicious. Chopped up tomatoes, onions, garlic, and assorted other chopped vegetables. Put it on some of that crunchy bread. Good stuff.
  14. Nymr83 wrote: i'd argue then when you take cammy's CF defense out of the equation he isn't really much better, if better at all. i'd love to play cameron in CF but the mets obviously arent going that way so they might as well trade him for a guy who is an equal hitter, can play 1b/rf (which they need), and is alot cheaper and will hopefully let them spend more on something else. Defense in right doesn't mean anything? Cammy played an incredible right field last year. If they have equal bats, keep the guy who is great in right field and find someone else to play first. I think this trade is pretty obviously designed as the beginning to operation go after Manny. If it's not, then Irish is right. Unless they 100% know he will develop into something more, Nady is one step up from a bench player. A great defensive outfielder traded for a bench player. Not good.
  15. 86-Dreamer wrote: Another guess is that it won't be long before Sammy Sosa's name pops up in Met rumors. I am not advocating, just guessing that it will come up now that RF is oficially up for grabs. I have been happy with Omar to date. I'm guessing he will not pursue Sosa. Although.....would it be to terrible to have him on the bench if he's very, very cheap? He could play the role Mike doesn't seem to want to embrace, the menacing figure in the on-deck circle with a (corked) bat in hand. He could even hold a needle to pretend he's still on the juice.
  16. Could be bruschetta.
  17. Frayed Knot wrote: Well, I like it better than if he gone for relief pitching as was rumored. Yeah, but not much better. Does anyone else think that he's could've brought more back? _____________________________ This post had the designation 124) Harry Parker
  18. silverdsl wrote: I'm glad they finally got around to enacting a policy with teeth - the penalties are a big deal now.. Me too. I guess last year was just to prove they weren't fucking around so people would get off the juice before the real penalties went into effect.
  19. ]UPDATE: The thing with Wright going to Baltimore was meant as something of a joke, good-natured teasing of long-suffering Mets fans, but is apparently really pissing off a lot of Mets boosters. Feel free to ignore it, guys. The Crystal Ball feature is half-serious and half-tongue-in-cheek. In this case, I do expect that Wright will put up numbers similar to this if he remains healthy, but I am not seriously claiming that he will end up in Baltimore.
  20. Nice, thanks.
  21. Ah, I see. The word memorial could be taken out, too, no? Eh, nevermind. It's not that important to me. Just wanted to play with the tables. How'd you get the text to wrap, BTW? If you click quote you'll be able to see the code I pirated.

  23. Frayed Knot wrote: I just don't see the point in projecting a career from a guy with less than 1-1/2 years of service. For fun. And so Met fans can get all hot and bothered and risk being crushed for the remainder of their lives (see: Dwight Gooden, MD and Strawberry, DAH-ryl)
  24. Never mind.
