  1. I'm hoping that the nickname will catch on. Congrats on your first Almighty Kevin Elster Post, Irish.
  2. Where's the love for Armando? _____________________________ This post had the designation 116) Nino Espinosa
  3. Allow all players except Asshead.
  4. Ty Wigginton 101 in the all-time Met rankings? I wouldn'ta thunk it.
  5. How come expensive isn't a choice?
  6. Roto. No H2H please.
  7. Since 90% of the players don't give a fuck about the fans, I don't really care where the players come from. Just keep Asshead away from me. (Asshead being a pitcher who likes to throw bats)
  8. Free
  9. I'm worried about what Pedro has left in the tank. Course, I was worried about that last year and had those worries rammed down my throat with extra mustard.

  11. So, how 'bout that Manny Ramirez guy? Do you think the Mets will get him?
  12. I like Kevin Elster, Lenny Dykstra, and Mike Piazza. I don't like the expression "true Met." An interesting thread idea, Val, though I'm guessing the older members here have had something similar in the past. (Older meaning, longer CPF-tenured, not necessarily older in Earth years) I'll probably post more when I have more time.
  13. Put me down for a vote for Yahoo, and a vote for no restrictions based on real-life team.
  14. I've now heard and read that his preference was Toronto, Anaheim, Seattle, and Chicago. Don't put too much stock into what you read.
  15. Adding extra stats and scoring categories greatly diminishes the skill factor and increases the luck factor, IMHO.
  16. ]"One thing I would like to clear up: Last year had nothing to do with not wanting to play with the Mets," Sloane said. "Carlos felt in '05 the Marlins offered him the best opportunity to play in the World Series. That being said, in '06 the Mets will offer the best opportunity to play in the World Series. That was it, plain and simple. It had nothing to do with him not liking New York. He has family in New York. He loves the city and the people." As expected.

Is it within him to finally put it ALL together?? Are you taking the best individual totals he's gotten and combining them for one year? Not asking much, are we?
  18. I gave it four. I'm not a fan of his music at all, but the movie was pretty interesting, and Joaquin and Reese were good. I hadn't realized until the closing credits came up that they did their own vocals.
  19. I'm interested. Might be a little tricky incorporating the no Yankee/Brave rule. Since the Yankees are always trading for the best players mid-season, someone could end up with one of their top picks on the Yankees.
  20. Oops, I read '04 as '05. I still like the player we received better.
  21. ]Rowand, 28, set career highs in 2004 by hitting .310 with 38 doubles, 24 homers and 69 RBI. They gave him up for a left handed hitting first baseman coming off a shitty, injury-plagued year who is a year older than Delgado with a slightly larger contract? If the Mets had done that I think Shea would have been burned down.
  22. The White Sox just traded Aaron Rowand for Jim Thome. Who made out better today, the Mets or the White Sox?

  24. OTOH, maybe I shouldn't calm down. But my head is starting to hurt from the wall.
  25. So far, the statistical evidence against the trade is Jacobs' many minor league seasons hitting more than 30 home runs and Delgado's poor performances in the second half. I've got to calm down. I'm sure I've said some boneheaded things in the past, too.
