  1. And look, the Mets are already making their money back! [fimg=800:3p57ljgj]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DIBPifFnqb8/VqMOPfoaF9I/AAAAAAAAkrs/ci8oyrE-tgI/s1280-Ic42/Already.png[/fimg:3p57ljgj]
  2. Gah! I knew I forgot to stock up on something before the storm. Looks like there's a shot of brandy left.
  3. I don't even give a shit if this somehow goes south. The Mets made THE BIG move!
  4. WooHoo!

He hasn't Tweeted a thing about it since he reported the Mets-talk shebang. I saw two reports on fb. One showed his tweet. I don't think Onley quoted the $. He just said it was a done deal to be announced tonight. You may have been had, bud. Not ANYWHERE on his feed, and I've seen a few references from verified baseball-press-types to fake Cespedes and Olney feeds. Really! I did click on the tweet and it didn't take me to twitter, just to an image of the tweet, which I thought unusual. Hey, I'm glad. I'd rather this not be my very first CPF scoop.

  8. I was only going by an Olney tweet. I would REALLY like to be wrong.
  9. It's not official yet but, ugh, shit.
  10. I believe our pitching can do anything. But it's a lot to expect the young arms to do it without surrounding them with all the offensive push possible. So yea, we could. Pen looks good right now. I think if the Mets get that extra O somehow (I'm not adverse to a breakout year from Lags) our pitching can somewhat cruise, and I'd prefer that.
  11. WooHoo!. I love this. And from what I'm reading today maybe I am wrong about him vs. righties. I guess we'll find out.

I've been using MLBtv for years, never heard of that. I imagine they would rather I didn't know. The full package is still worth it, the best deal in town. These days you can pump it to your TV if you want. no, the team packages is part of the settlement. Right. The suit was brought to stop the practice of having to buy all just to get the one you really want. Kool beans. I wonder if they will still allow you to go thru the teams archived games and replay 'em.

I really need to send everything to the cloud one weekend. Digital pack rat, lol. Me too. I would never feel secure unless I had physical possession of the hard drive(s) or, put simply, all the stuff I save. I have 2 external hard drives (will need a third some time this year) and important back-ups go on DvDs. Jennifer Lawrence told me not to trust the cloud.

  16. I approached this vote differently. If I had those 2 newspapers and could only save one for posterity (translated: out in the garage), which would it be? Five years from now I'd want to have the Conforto cover.
  17. Is this too obnoxious? I think it's just the right amount. [fimg=500:2e6xl0vb]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IBS0Hbn2Wvg/Vpw-PDkyk7I/AAAAAAAAkpY/QEHUaZQ7ktU/s900-Ic42/2016WSring-z16.png[/fimg:2e6xl0vb]

My fear with Yo was that a long-term deal would make him fat and complacent, plus we'd be paying for him when he was 35 or so. Short-term deal, he's motivated, and he's younger. Still think someone else will swoop in and steal him away, though. AllAthis^ But a 1 yr deal I think we get the same Cespedes as last year. Very good numbers at the plate, afraid to get seriously hurt anywhere else on the field. Go 3 Sandy!

But he does like New York, so I'd take the short term deal (probably more per year anyhow) to return there. Baltimore fans would be complaining that he's not Davis. But New York fans will be happy that he is Cespedes. And in my gut, I think that love factor is very important to him. Later And maybe a ring. Does he have a WS ring yet?
  20. Gah! So I guess you heard that I didn't win. Throws scoreboard plans into the fireplace. *sob [fimg=400:3u6uce0l]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-AqiCtmin8gw/VpmihvtiuvI/AAAAAAAAkos/y8Pcv9lqBH0/s674-Ic42/New%252520Scoreboard-z16.png[/fimg:3u6uce0l]

I wouldn't even vote if Mets weren't a choice. I'll take the chance with dKong76. Because that's a pretty kool looking cart with a great location.
  22. I think Alderson was hired because of the financial problems. And while dealing with that he got us to a World Series. I don't listen too much to what he says (seems like political double speak at times), I'm more concerned with what he does. And he's been doing us good. I trust that he is doing the best he can with what is available to him $ wise so I'll just sit back and wait to see what we put on the field come spring.
  23. Very, very kool and one constant: not an empty seat in the stands behind the action. Mountains of people.
  24. I have to wait until Sandy is all done. And if I know him he's not finished with the pen and probably won't be til the last minute. And I saw talk this morning the Mets are working on Cespedes for lesspedes. I didn't even read even one of the articles, but the headlines looked encouraging (if true). And that could change everything(not holding my breath though).
  25. Okay. Actual size Lego Batmobile and Mattmobile AND I'll lend Fred the flow (at a decent interest rate) to get Cespedes. I'll help him again when the pitchers contracts come up. Fuck owning the Mets. I'll own the Wilpons.
