The matching belts are quite impressive. I think the NEW New York Mets (from 1962 to 1976) had a BYOB policy. The New New York Mets are the Blernsball team http://futurama.wikia.com/wiki/New_New_York_Mets Don't I know it. I'm a big Futurama fan and love that episode. Leela needs a baseball card.
  3. I've been up to no good. My 69mfc MOBILE METS needed to be corrected. The original design I used was a mishmash of the '67 & '69 Topps designs. All that work colorizing the photo and only a sliver is used. lol. 6. They must have felt the less seams the better off they were. Bad bounce ground balls off the seams were an issue IIRC. They still were but the sliding pit style limited the amount of them.
  7. Wow. Awesome. Believe it or not I have most of those. Still, the few I don't are great and thank you. The one with all the gear on Lagares, I have a back view. This front view is much better. The one with Agee is the photo that I'm using for the 71 border. That's a favorite. Altman and Hickman held up their ends but Snider was sent to the Giants a couple of weeks after that photo was taken and Thomas was traded to the Phillies during the '64 season. Joe Christopher (not pictured) got most of the other OF innings. It don't really matter to me if they didn't actually end up as the outfield that played. Just as long as at one point they were thought to be. I'm just trying to fill some space on the subject. I didn't think of looking further back in time. I'll check my files too and see if I have anything from 62-68. I really would like to avoid another colorization job for this one post. I can photoshop the 2016 Outfield into one image. And that's a situation where, we all hope Conforto works out and excels, but who knows until he does.
  9. WOW! What a photo! I was literally one of the first to hit the field. No one was in front of me at the time. So I'm probably just off to the right. Still a great photo. batmagadanleadoff wrote: I can't think of anybody on the '73 WS roster who even remotely looks like that Met. I'm feeling a strong sense of deJaVu. Leo Foster?
  10. Looking forward to seeing it. Talk about rare photos from 1973, I ran into this just today. I had never seen this photo before! I love when that happens. I'd love to get my hands on a hi-rez version of this.
  11. Okay, that colorjob is done and I've made it into a 1969T bordered card. I have a similar picture of the Mets OF circa 1970 (Jones, Agee, Swoboda), and that'll be a '71. I'd like to do at least one more for the 2016 Mets outfield. Does anyone have (or seen) a photo of Conforto, Cespedes, & Granderson together? I searched pretty hard and long last night to no avail. Also, if anyone has a photo of any Mets OF of the past, where all 3 regular starters are in it (usually posed), I'll make a corresponding card for that year.
  12. Vic seemed like a swell guy. I posted a photoshopped pic I did making fun of his beard on his facebook page (I put his beard on his head) and he "liked" it. I assume that means he got a chuckle out of it.
  13. seawolf17 wrote: That's a pretty well-done parody. I was zipping around so fast when I hit that blog that I didn't catch that it was a joke. I thought it was serious. I came here and linked it before I even finished reading it. lol. That's pretty classic! He got me good
  14. I look for myself in photos of game 5 and sometimes I think I see me. I have no real recollection of what I wore, only of the way I usually dressed at that age. At the very end I was almost parallel with 3rd base, in the makeshift extended wooden box section. I initially went toward 3rd base, shifted down the line to home plate and then ran to the mound. On the TV broadcast you can see me in the Reds dugout much earlier during the delay of game when the wooden partitions collapsed and fans spilt out on to the field. I pointed myself out in a photo of the field celebration before, but I no longer think that was me, although I do believe I am seen in that photograph. Knowing the route I took as I ran on the field I was able to take a better guess. But I still can't say with any certainty that it's me.
  15. batmagadanleadoff wrote: I should know this because I was there and he wasn't that far from me in game 5, after I snuck down to box. But I don't recall seeing him. Was it about The Big Red Machine? OE: Oh, started this before the posts above. If you were that close, then maybe you're in my picture. Because when I get around to posting the answer to this quiz, I'll post an accompanying picture that includes Erhardt's sign as well as fans storming the field in front of the Reds dugout. OO,kool. I hope someday there is video discovered of the last few innings. Cause I know for sure I was shown on TV during that time.
  16. 27 different cards in 2016 Topps Series 1 will feature Bill Cosby in some capacity. How wacky is that? From Baseball Card Breakdown: http://baseballcardbreakdown.blogspot.com/2016/02/2016-topps-preview-from-parallel.html?showComment=1454542819956#c680892604774722805

IIRC my brother and I went thru your need list and I was a bit disappointed to see that between us we only had 11 cards that you needed. I'll send them along if you still need em. seawolf17 wrote: Also, follow @brentandbecca on Twitter. 20. Gah! I thought I'd complete this tonight. I thought I was done but I see that Agee's pinstripes need more work. Here's the finished Cleon. What card border should I make it? 1968? 1969? Could be either. Photo was taken in ST '68. The caption will be MOBILE METS (unless someone has a better one).
  21. Ya know, seeing a few Mets as examples, the no-border look is pretty kool. Still feels like Stadium Club to me though. And I'll never forgive Topps for lopping the ends of the best logo known to man and the universe. Still, I will enjoy the 16 cards. Because years from now I'll point to the '16's and say, yea, that was the year the Mets started their run of 3 World Championships in a row.
  22. That's hilarious.
  23. Wow. Where on earth did you find that shot? Awesome find! I'm currently colorizing this shot and it is coming out excellent. Actually what I do might have to be termed photo restoration. I'll post a peek later tonight. [fimg=400:1xweoerb]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E4ktBOko9gM/VrEeHohH7hI/AAAAAAAAk8Q/-hsTVgwnDt4/s576-Ic42/001.png[/fimg:1xweoerb]
