  1. One gets strangely intimate with the ballplayer when answering the questions about specific physical characteristics. I could find no photos of Valentin without his hat on so I have no idea what his hair looks like.
  2. I think you use yellow for Caucausians and the other appropriate skin tones for players of African, Latin American, and Asian background.
  3. Johnny Dickshot wrote: ="Iubitul"]And the Mets win the damned game... My thoughts exactly. From the PotG poll it looks they tied.
  4. I'm just waiting and waiting and waiting for them to get hot. It should be possible. Beltran-Delgado-Wright-Reyes are as good a core of the offense as you could hope for. Maine, Perez, Glavine & Hernandez have all shown that they're pretty damn good pitchers, some of the time. The bullpen can be very good and very not good. History shows that being dominant throughout the season isn't necessary for a world series championship. The 2003 Marlins were one of the worst teams in baseball for the first two months. The 2004 Red Sox were as sluggish as the 2007 Mets until mid-August. The 2005 Astros were crap and AstroAnnie gave up on them and then they turned around and won the pennant. The 2006 Cardinals were a crap team in a crap division with a crap record and they beat the crap out of the Mets and Tigers. So I still think the Mets can win it all now. They're positioned well being in first place and all. They just need to get hot and stay hot through the postseason. Please?

Timo Bleeping Perez is the owner of two World Series rings, if you can believe it. (White Sox and Cardinals) Could have been three if it wasn't for Timo Bleeping Perez.
  6. Ditto Dickshot.
  7. 10 Things I Didnt Know about Rick Aguilera.
  8. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! (A friendly reminder that Talk Like a Pirate Day is only 35 days away).

  10. According to IMDB she's been Jessica Alba since 1981.
  11. SteveJRogers wrote: Why do we have Luis Castillio, Paul LoDuca and Carlos Delgado right now? Because Omar made some stupid deals for old players who can't hit anymore.
  12. Ghostbusters rules. The sequel sucked!
  13. I think Dickshot was following Omar's lead since JD indirectly quotes OM in the first post.
  14. The solution of course is to have two ballparks.
  15. The 1903 version is much better. A classic Western filmed in New Jersey and only 12 minutes long. And then that bandit shoots at the audience. So scary!
  16. I never got into Deep Space Nine. It was too much like a soap opera, Melrose Place in space! And how can they be "deep space" when they're right next to an inhabited planet?
  17. Speared by the >(({>--
  18. Don't comic book series retcon all the time by their very nature?
  19. I think the Star Trek franchise needs to rest for 15-20 years to regain freshness. I loved Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation, but they've really just beat it to death the past 10 years or so.
  20. Game scores are cool. I use them for awarding Schaefer points.
  21. Rain should not stop our Mets nor our piscine foe. I want to see the Mets pissed and angry over the Braves series and venting their rage on these hapless Floridans. Bring on the >(({>--
  22. That should be "cahn-fident!"
  23. I recall that the Mets had the Dodgers' number in 1988. Then they stuck the number in their pants pocket and forgot to take it out before it went in the laundry. The Mets tried to open up the amorphous lump of pulp, but the number was washed away. They tried calling information but the Dodgers' number was unlisted.
