  2. No big whoop. This is still a Mets win in the making.
  3. That's one way to bring the runner home from third.
  4. 75 The Diamond Stolen Base
  5. Whatever other team wins a place in the postseason, I say "Bring 'em on!" The other teams should be shaking in their boots about facing the Mets. A rotation that includes Perez, Maine, Hernandez, Martinez, and the Almighty Glavine is nothing to sneeze at, especially in a short series.
  6. Kazmir never played for the Mets.
  7. Phillies. I want to watch the Mets trounce them in the NLCS. Actually I'll go the extra mile and pick all the teams I'd like to see in the postseason of the teams that still have a chance. AL EAST: Boston AL CENTRAL: Cleveland AL WEST: LA of Anaheim WILD CARD: Detroit NL EAST: New York NL CENTRAL: Milwaukee NL WEST: San Diego WILD CARD: Philadelphia
  8. Not too different from the 2002 Mets.
  9. Gwreck wrote: ="Willets Point"]That was just a warning for those of you who are rooting for the Braves of what type of cosmic irony may occur. ...says the man frequently predicting nothing but doom and gloom for the Mets. Not me. I'm optoMetstic!
  10. I had a good time in Milwaukee last year and they have a friendly, faithful fan base, so I think I'll root for the Brewers.

  12. Edgy DC wrote: Sure, but, at some level, feeling good is what we're in it for. We kind of want to fall. Actually I watch sports because I like to see human beings succeed at things at a higher level than the typical person, not to see them fail.
  13. Way to ruin the feel good story of the year, Ankiel.
  14. Nymr83 wrote: Rick Ankiel with 2 more homers a double and 7 RBI tonight, what a story this guy has been! But if the Cardinals get in the playoffs he'll probably start swinging wildly at pitches way out of the strike zone.
  15. Edgy DC wrote: I was getting there. Don't go all Steve Rogers on us now.
  16. The Mets need to win more. That's way too much Elmo.
  17. Holy Homoertocism Beeman!
  18. If we do Presidents then it would be great to clinch on Sept 17-19 at Washington. Not likely to likely to clinch that early, but maybe on Sept. 24-26 vs. Washington.
  19. Old School Sesame Street. Do they ever show anything this trippy anymore?
  20. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Then why are you worrying about Atlanta in the NLCS? If the Mets don't beat them, it's their own damn fault! I'm not worried about them. That was just a warning for those of you who are rooting for the Braves of what type of cosmic irony may occur.
  21. Don't forget Bert's pigeons.
  22. See I look at it that if the Phillies are 4 games out when they come to Shea, it's a good chance for the Mets to put them 7 games out. Call me a cockeyed optimist but I think the Mets can win the division by winning a lot of ballgames. And if they don't, it's their own damned fault.
  23. I'm not talking to any of you who are rooting for the Braves. Watch out or Atlanta may snag the Wild Card and kick the Mets ass in the NLCS. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The NL East title is entirely in the Mets' hands. There's nothing the Phillies can do about it. Rooting for the Phillies to lose when they're not playing the Mets is just being a weenie.
  24. Looks like the Count in a wig. I suspect that the Count is gay.
