  2. I guess there are some among us who'd want to do that to Mota.
  3. Edgy DC wrote: That Yankee cap wearing goof is one bad lipsyncher. Unfortunate choice in haberdashery but the chick is cute.
  4. Yeah, I know it's a night game so there was no sunshine to begin with.
  5. I'm still waiting to meet Cooby.
  6. That double play is all the better now.
  7. Pitcher's best friend.
  8. Hang in there Pedro.
  9. Pray for Beltran.
  10. If you just listen to the crowd, it sounds like they're at Shea.
  11. Despite the poor play of the Mets the past 7 games, I'm still feeling optimistic and readying for the postseason (especially with the Mets leading the Marlins right now). So I'm reviving Cockeyed Optimist Monitoring Every Situation with a High Outlook Theses to have a thread for positive thoughts about the Mets. Thanks to Edgy for finding the original thread started by Johnny Dickshot. Here are some starters: They've hit rock bottom and are on the upswing David Wright puts the seal on his MVP candidacy and has a killer final week of the regular season at the plate. The Magic Number is 9. Could be 3 by Monday morning. The Phillies have one fewer game left to play. That's one more chance for the Mets to run down the magic number. They team has not recorded any embarrassing pop, metal, or hip-hop songs all season. Autumn brings out the best in the Mets pitchers.

  13. I was going to comment that Antknee is an unusual name until I realized that it's a nickname for Anthony.
  14. If you look out the window on your left you'll see the rare base hit with RISP and 2 outs. Admire its lovely plumage. Once you've see one, you'll want to see more.
  15. No! It was the Mets who we wanted to score some early runs.
  16. No blimp tonight.
  17. Rockin' Doc wrote: The Mets need to jump on Olsen early. They need to score some early runs and knock him out early. Come on. Let's Go Mets! And then the relievers need to not let the Marlins get all those runs back.
  18. ="cooby"]Rusty, and I used to have a picture to prove it. But alas, it fried with my PC. This one?
  19. attgig wrote: yoshii's getting screwed wasn't with the mets. but his era getting screwed 4.11 and 5.86 ??? 5.86 was top 100?!? Hence the "as a Met" phrase being attached to Jerry Koosman, not Yoshii.
  20. I wouldn't say that the Mets are unlikeable. I think they're highly likable. They're just playing poorly, which is frustrating. Very frustrating. I don't know, maybe my mind is elsewhere right now, but I just have this unshakable optimism about this team. As bad as they are right now, I'm confident they'll be in the postseason and that they'll do well once it begins.
  21. Pitchers who got screwed, including Masato Yoshii. Twice. Jerry Koosman got screwed as a Met.
  22. To borrow the philosophy of AA, you have to hit rock bottom before you can start crawling back up. I think the Mets hit rock bottom tonight.
  23. Extra inning game on the road = bottle of antacid.
  24. TM with the far better examples.
