  1. Senga returning to 2023 form (or at least being a solid #3) starter will greatly boost the Mets playoff chances. He has a lot of talent, but has proven to be very fragile. Hoping this is the start of a good, healthy season for Senga.
  2. We have to hope that Vientos can regain his form and provide some much needed power to the line up. If he does, he will provide real value a DH vs. lefties/RH pinch hitter off the bench/spot starter at 3rd base (& possibly first base).
  3. I am not too concerned about Bichette's bat. In six seasons he has hit .290 or better 5 times. The hits will come, the defense will likely be a season long work in progress.
  4. They traded (or let walk) several long-term Mets (Alonso, Diaz, Nimmo, & McNeil) who were popular with the fan base. I think some of the fan base may have a wait and see attitude regarding the newly revamped Mets roster. If the Mets play well and win, the fans will turn out.
  5. I like this move. Pham offers insurance should the current core of OF suffer injuries or just fail to produce.
  6. Jett suffered a left quad injury while legging out a triple and missed 2 weeks of spring training. He has recovered and will open the season for the Brewers Triple A affiliate in Nashville. The Brewers are focusing his development primarily at shortstop. Live long and propser, young Jett.
  7. I was thinking 88 or 89 wins, when I initially saw the thread title.
  8. I thought he might be a usable 4th outfielder/LH bat of the bench. Tough break for both the Mets and Tauchman.
  9. As Cooby suggested, dark mode is much easier on the eyes and there is a definite division between each posts.
  10. If Tauchman does not make the MLB roster, I believe he can opt out of his contract and become become a free agent. Keeping him definitely provides some insurance should Benge struggle at the MLB level. Tauchman has been a pleasant surprise (at least to me) thus far and Benge has looked solid. Benge is clearly the long-term answer, but the team could do worse than keeping both of them.
  11. Hell, if you don't turn off the profanity filter, half of Fman99's post will be *****. We will miss out on his profane wisdom. Don't ever change Fman, we love yoa.
  12. Very encouraging that Lindor played 4 innings at shortstop in today's game against the Blue Jays. Went 1-3 and pulled a 390 foot foul ball down the RF line. No pain experienced. All excellent news. Hopefully, he continues to keep progressing as opening day approaches.
  13. Significantly better than when I initially signed in yesterday. That is very encouraging.
  14. Place is already looking much better than when I initially signed in yesterday. It was virtually all Minnesota Twins posts and news. Glad to see so many familiar "faces" have made the move.
  15. Well, I'm in. Don't know how long I will be staying considering Grand Central Mets is virtually all Minnesota Twins related posts. When I click on the Forums Tab, the Mets aren't even listed ass an option. I try checking in in a few days to see if the Mets actually appear on Grand Central Mets.
  16. I looked at this soley from the standpoint of lost production that can't be replaced by any of the new Mets. Alonso and Diaz will be most difficult to replace. Since i could only vote for one, I went with Alonzo, since I don't believe anyone (outside of Soto) will replicate his HR's and RBI's. I have high hopes for Bo Bichette, but he is a high average doubles hitter with 20-25 HR a year power. Bo is more like his father, Dante, than he is Pete Alonso. That's not necessarily bad, but the Mets will miss Pete's HR production.
  17. I just had to look up Robert Stock. My mind kept telling me, "He's that stocky, hard throwing RHP from the Cubs a few years back." Then I would think, no way, his career is ended years ago. So I looked him up and damned if it isn't who I remembered (take that alzheimers), only he's still pitching. It is amazing how many players that are discussed here that I have no memory of, or I can picture them, but can't recall their name. Robert Stock however, sticks in the cobwebs of my mind. The mind is a mysterious thing.
  18. Carlos Delgado of the Toronto Blue Jays.
  19. Okay. Back to the baseball.
  20. I voted #5 and that was before KC's suggestion of the Unisphere in place of the baseball, which I really like.
  21. First chance to see what Manaea may be able to contribute this season. Hoping, he is more like the 2024 version than the 2025 version of himself. Health, I believe, is a big factor in his capabilities.
  22. I like the last rendition with the darker green for the sign. Great work Ben.
  23. I think Ben is on to something with this signage. Can the blue and orange of Mets more closely match the coloring of the official logo in the first sign?
  24. It is the free game of the day on MLB.com. Line up features Tauchmann in LF, Polanco @ 1st, Bichette @ 3rd, Baty in RF, and Mauricio @ SS. I may try to watch a few innings if I can get my yard work finished.
