Realmuto did us a favor there trying to steal. Great catch and tag by McNeil.
  2. The Hot Corner
So the bullpen issues a 4 pitch walk to start the inning.
  3. The Hot Corner
Escobar with a seeing eye single than somehow alludes everyone. Plates Marte for a second Mets run.
  4. The Hot Corner
    Ballgame!
  5. The Hot Corner
It's Raley. Who makes a great defensive play to get the first out.
  6. The Hot Corner
So who do you send out for the 9th?
  7. The Hot Corner
Lindor with the excuse me check swing single. Time for McNeil to make up for his stupid base running gaffe. That will do

Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: We make too many outs on the bases There is aggressive base running, but when you take it too far, it becomes stupid base running.
  9. The Hot Corner
Robertson with a much better 9th inning to hold on this time. 4 straight wins.
  10. The Hot Corner
Pham swipes second to get in scoring position. Sanchez goes down on strikes. Need to get Pham in with the insurance run.
  11. The Hot Corner
Hot Damn! Marte with a 2 run Bomb. Mets back in front.
  12. The Hot Corner
The Mets have simply worn out their bullpen due to the starters not giving them quality innings often enough. The offense needs to step up again.
  13. The Hot Corner
Damn, Ottavino with a rough outing. Need 4 outs from Robertson.
  14. The Hot Corner
Now this is more like it. Very impressive 7th inning by Raley. Then Nimmo hits a no doubter to extend the lead.
  15. The Hot Corner
The Mets really needed to get more out of that inning. Vogelbach's walk wasn't the problem. The Mets were fortunately able to take advantage of Straw's arm twice in the inning to get in the one run.
  16. The Hot Corner
Mets on 2nd and third w/ no outs. Marte hits a bullet with the infield in, but Ramirez snags it and throws him out. Now it's up to Vogelbach. We need to give Max some support. Walks to load the bases. Come on Sanchez.

With today's rainout of the game against the Gaurdians , I figured it was a good time check in to see how Jett was getting along with the Port St. Lucie Mets (A). Through 26 games he has 20 appearances at shortstop, 4 in CF, and 2 at DH. He seems to be struggling a bit at the plate thus far. In 119 plate appearances he has 18 hits for a .209 average. He has however drawn 23 walks and been hit by 8 pitches so his OBP is a healthy .412 and he is 9 of 13 in steal attempts. He has 8 errors in 70 chances at shortstop, but he is young, so hopefully he will get steadier. He has all the tools to be a good defender.

At this point he is pretty much toast. I expect him to suck in whatever uniform he is wearing. Just glad he is no longer sucking in a Mets uniform.
  19. The Hot Corner
Buck decides that 98 pitches is enough and sends Edwin Uceta in to make his Mets debut.
  20. The Hot Corner
Wilmer Flores takes Peterson deep to make it 7-2 Giants through 5. Barring a a few runs from the Mets, I would keep trotting Peterson out there for another inning or two. He needs to take one for the team and give the bullpen a light work day.
  21. The Hot Corner
Definitely a promising start. I would say it was the Mets best start of the season. He has earned a shot at additional starts.
  22. The Hot Corner
They also have another right handed hitter by the name of J.D. Davis. Oh, and don't forget Darin Ruf. Rumor has it that Ruf kills left handers, though I can't recall seeing evidence of that.

    =kcmets post_id=122697 time=1681779229 user_id=53] Just a matter of time...
  24. The Hot Corner
Okay, I can breathe again. Hard earned win.
  25. The Hot Corner
Vogelbach ripped it. Unfortunately, it was right at the second baseman. Robertson will try to hang onto the one run lead.
