  1. But hey, at least the wave is going, and some dumbass middle-aged white guy is behind the plate doing the YMCA. You know there's a game going on, right, friends?
  2. I thought Oswalt was released like three seasons ago.
  3. This "checking for substances" thing might be the stupidest thing Manfred has done, and that's saying something for a guy whose stock in trade is "fucking up baseball."
  4. Yeep, Tylor is a big dude.
  5. And Berrios is theoretically more "gettable" than Scherzer. I mean, you'd still have to give up Mauricio in any deal, I'd figure, and if you're going to do that, you might as well get a guy who's 27, more cost-controlled, and still above league-average over his career. He's a solid #4 behind our big three.
  6. I would love very much for Bartolo to come back, but there's no way he can regularly get MLB hitters out right now. His last good season was 2016, which is a LONG time ago.
  7. Oh, of course. Forgot he was back today.
  8. Gsellman to the IL with a lat injury too, sez the internet. No word on a replacement yet, but dollars to donuts it's Nick Tropeano.
  9. This is assuming all these guys actually come back AND nobody gets hurt or traded: 1) McNeil (within the week?) - Drury is probably the casualty here. Thanks for your service. 2) Conforto (shortly after?) - Mason Williams. 3) Almora (late June?) - I think he finds his way back up. Peraza, probably. 4) Betances (early July?) - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. 5) Fargas (early July?) - Stays in AAA. 6) Nimmo (mid July?) - This is right around where Billy McKinney turns into Billy McKinney. 7) Martinez (mid/late July?) - Released/traded. I don't see a fit. 8) Davis (mid/late July?) - Guillorme, theoretically, and I don't like it one bit. 9) Hunter (mid/late July?) - Drew Smith, maybe? 10) Carrasco (late July?) - Lucchesi, most likely. 11) Yamamoto (early August?) - Released/traded. Again, I don't see a fit. 12) Syndergaard (late August?) - This would have to be Peterson, because there's nobody left, unless you want to send down Reid-Foley again.
  10. =Ceetar post_id=68176 time=1623884421 user_id=102]43.9% of Citi Field is 18,403 unvaccinated people.

  12. The two remaining guys are both middle infielder types.

  14. 15. I'm not sure who you're thinking of - the only Rule 5 guy I can think of around that time was Brad Emaus, but I don't think he made it to the end of April.

  22. Inspired by the fact that Willie Harris somehow snuck into 126 games in 2011 (!), I wanted to figure out what other one-year wonders we've had. It's quiz time, friends. Bring it. Name these players who made it into 100 games in their one season as a Met. Year Games 1962 141 1962 135 1962 118 1963 129 1964 124 1966 133 1967 154 1967 101 1971 104 1979 136 1992 142 1992 117 2000 144 2001 120 2002 114 2003 125 2005 100 2009 126 2009 100 2010 100 2011 126 - Willie Harris 2011 101 2012 132 2013 117 2013 101 2015 117 2016 130 2016 100
  23. I have no memory of Willie Harris as a Met. I remember him making great catches against us as a skinny National. Dude put on some weight. I literally said the same thing last night. "THAT'S Willie Harris?"
  24. Lefty Specialist wrote: =seawolf17 post_id=67824 time=1623668899 user_id=91] Barnes has been *terrible* all season. No idea how he's lasted this long. No options. You try to send him down, you'll run the risk of losing him. Which wouldn't be a bad thing, actually.
