  1. By the way, fucking great song.
  2. I'm not saying that he won't have full value down the road, but if Kenny Williams wants to get full value for Buehrle right now, Milledge has to come at a discount until he starts playing again. I'm not specifically down on him; he's still on my fantasy team, because I fully believe he's going to contribute somewhere this year. I'm just saying that right now his value is down due to the injury.
  3. Actually, an injured Lastings Milledge has very little trade value right now. Hopefully he comes back and shows he's still worth something -- either to us or to another club.
  4. Carlos Beltran got an RBI hit! Someone call the press!
  5. It'll be fun to see Pat Neshek, who is both a baseball card collector and an active blogger. Plus, he's got a cool sidewinding motion:
  6. ="Frayed Knot"]...I don't think he's ever actually obtained any of the players he was said to have wet dreams over.
  7. Yeah, but if Joe gets hits by a bus tomorrow, it's hard to argue that a bunch of one- or two-out outings override a long career. Maybe it's close, because this team is good while that team was terrible, but I can't get too excited about him yet.
  8. Charley - two very productive seasons Pete - 4-10, 5.55 in 1994, but was so consistently bad as a Mets opponent that he gets the edge Dick - serviceable role player in two seasons Joe - it's only 31 games Bobby - 3 for 22 in 1962; traded before the end of April I think you could argue Dick/Joe, but other than that, this one's easy.
  9. Are you clutch, A-Rod? Here's your shot. Red hot team against an ice cold team. Rookie pitcher. Bring it, loser.
  10. I'm ornery, considering we're winning. Maybe it's because it should be like 7-0 by now, not 2-0.
  11. Ronnie talking about comparing Gomez to Lonnie Smith... he told a story about one game where Lonnie got on base three times against him, and he picked him off all three times. Not totally correct, but Ronnie was close: on 9/22/83, Ronnie picked him off twice: off second in the first inning and off first in the third.
  12. Are Carlos Beltran's legs broken? He was jogging down the line too. Am I getting old? RUN OUT EVERY FUCKING BALL.
  13. Gary: It'll be interesting to see what Clemens does with Delgado here. 3-1, but he's slumping, and has a righty on deck. Me: Just throw strikes; he sucks. Roger: /throws strike two Me: See? Roger: /throws strike three Carlos: /leaves bat on shoulder Me: (sigh)
  14. With the exception of C-Delgado, who is looking more like Wilson Delgado at the plate, they're looking a LOT more alive tonight.
  15. WHAM off the upper deck for Jose!
  16. WOOOOOOOOOOO Carlos Gomez! SUCK IT, Matsui!
  17. DAMMIT Ollie throw strikes. Phelps makes another out in a big spot.
  18. Hey A-Rod... RUN down the fucking line. I hate that shit.
  19. And you'd have to put Ed Kranepool in the outfield, because if you have two first basemen, it's going to get confusing on pickoffs.
  20. And WHAM, just like that, Chan Ho Park is an Astro. Good choice of guys to put on cards this year, Topps.
