  1. Jeez, this is ugly. Need to come back and pick a few up in the bottom of this inning.
  2. My heart says 28, but my head says 20.
  3. Edgy MD wrote: [fimg=60]https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2022/01/bjornson-craig-2022.jpg[/fIMG] I open this thread just for this picture, every time.
  4. You know, I used to be on team "fuck ABBA" until our kid did "Mamma Mia" last year. Gave me a whole new appreciation. They had some really fantastic songs. Lots of dreck, yes. But some bops, too.
  5. =G-Fafif post_id=102296 time=1659646164 user_id=55] J.D. Davis has homered off Clayton Keyshawn.
  6. Goodness, this is harder than I thought. Assuming a starting four of deGrom/Scherzer/Carrasco/BassWalker, that leaves in what seems like the most likely order of preference: the other half of Bassitt/Walker (I picked Walker above) Lugo seems like a lock Williams too May Peterson because you need a lefty Givens will be given a lot of rope if Drew Smith is back and effective, he takes a spot over either Givens or May, whoever's less effective down the stretch. And I don't know how you leave Joely off, because otherwise you have only one lefty on the staff. But Joely is mostly terrible, so maybe they go without him. Megill is an interesting piece too.
  7. Givens was probably jetlagged or whatever. He'll be fine.
  8. 1,169: Mychal "67.50 ERA" Givens (I like when the Mets pick up guys who already have certified autographed cards available. Makes them much easier to add to the book.)
  9. Two ghost Mets in two days - Robertson and Clay. Interesting.
  10. =Ceetar post_id=102116 time=1659539570 user_id=102] =roger_that post_id=102113 time=1659538424 user_id=128] Brett Phillips was recently DFA's by the Rays. I think the Orioles picked him up. Maybe we should have? He's a good player, especially at that price.
  11. Another specific memory I have was from the Rain Delay Theater podcast that Gelbs and whatshisname did two years ago. All of the interviews were great, but JD came across as really likeable, albeit frustrated that he was miscast wherever he was. He talked about how people thought he wasn't good defensively, but he worked really hard at it, and was frustrated that the team saw him as an outfielder when he'd been an infielder his whole life.
  12. I've always loved how our greatest highlight forever has his voice attached.
  13. I like Meneses and Palacios - fan faves here in the ROC. But now I'm ready for them to start being terrible.
  14. Also I'm watching this on the SNY app and it's been fine, so I don't know whats up with MLBN or whatever.
  15. deG looked deGood tonight. Very pleased.
  16. Man, we fucked this up badly. Ugh.
  17. Mychal Givens and Darin Ruf. Crikey.
  18. Isn't he still hurt?
  19. You could tell me he got two starts or twenty; I feel like was our, like, #8 starter for a long time. I always wanted the "u" in his last name to be a long u.
  20. What a flop this deadline is turning out to be for us. I don't know if Eppler just overplayed his hand or what, but jeez.
  21. Had an obscene first season, which maybe made us all think he was a little more than he actually was. Did everything he was asked, more or less, but never seemed to get traction. My friend Greg and his goofy 877-RUNS-NOW song on Twitter.
  22. As much as I like to see the Nationals get worse, I *also* get to watch their AAA team every night, so having a bunch of top prospects who may or may not pan out is kind of exciting.
  23. It's pretty wild to realize that both teams "won" that deal.
