  1. Maine, Schwinden, Figueroa, Igarashi. LOLOLOLOLOL indeed.
  2. As per the Internets: The Mets have scored at least 17 runs eleven times; five of those eleven came against the Cubs, all at Wrigley.
  3. TransMonk wrote: This is a lead I hope the bullpen can hold. Manny Acosta is sitting at home shaking his head.
  4. Mazzillionth update: Lacey has joined dad Lee in working for the MFYs. ??
  5. For 25yo RHP Zach Stewart (1-2, 6.00 in 18 games) and IF/OF Brent "Super Joe" Lillibridge (.215 career BA). Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Youk is 33 and in the final year of his big money deal, most of which the Red Sox will pay in transit.
  6. Kevin Youkilis changing Sox: from Red to White, sez the internets. Possibly as many as five teams involved, according to one wank.
  7. Dempster and Cain also leading my suddenly revitalized fantasy team as well; although Dempster is now on the DL, so it's Dickey's to lose.
  8. I distinctly remember the Lone Ranger at games, and I like Cowbellman, in whatever configuration his name exists. I also remember a guy who I'm assuming was Sign Man II; he was out in left field on Fan Appreciation Day 1985, when my friend Lou's dad brought a gaggle of us nine-year-olds to the game for Lou's birthday. I distinctly remember said group of nine-year-olds happily chanting along "BULL -- SHIT" to one of the signs.
  9. Topps has an MLB exclusive. There are UD and Panini branded cards out there, but they're operating on individual contracts and the like and don't use MLB logos. And for the most part, your options are Target/Walmart/Kmart and card stores (if you can find one). Occasionally a 7-11 near us will have packs too. Standard flagship packs are typically 1.99 for 10-12 cards at Target, a little more at hobby shops.
  10. Um, Edge? That's a painting, not a photograph.
  11. Frayed Knot wrote: David Wright and the eight lefty swinging dwarfs. LHPs Dana Eveland and Troy Patton already warming up in the bullpen.
  12. Mets Willets Point wrote: Trade him now while his value his high (because the GMs on other teams only look at the most recent week's production). YES! Good plan. We'll take Mike Trout, Mark Trumbo, Jered Weaver, and the Frieri kid who's striking everyone out. We'll throw in Jason Bay.
  13. Lance Niekro tried it in 2009; got whacked around in the minors and retired to coach. Part of it is coaching, I'd think. You'd need someone to have the patience to coach you as well someone with the patience to catch you.
  14. Stony Brook IN THE HOUSE tonight. Doing the pregame routine, plus Coach Senk is throwing out the first pitch. MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE DRAFTED SOME OF THESE FRICKIN' GUYS, METS.
  15. My trip to Chicago this year falls at the All-Star Break; was hoping to hit a game, but I guess not.
  16. I'll openly admit that I was wrong. I didn't think Dickey was worth the money; I thought he was just waiting to fall off the table. But holy hell, this guy has been unreal. I apologize, RA, for doubting you.
  17. Topps sure has some sense of humor with their collation. Grabbed one pack of 2012 Topps Archives at lunch: http://twitpic.com/9xy7ob (The other five: Andrew McCutchen, Carl Crawford, Jay Bruce, Ken Singleton, and Jarrod Parker.)
  18. Murray. Second-best as a Met was Olerud.
  19. These songs are my JAMS. I got the Broadway Cast recording out of the library this weekend, and musically, I kinda enjoy it. The story, as best I can make out, is insipid. I can't imagine the movie being any good, but I'm intrigued by the recordings.
  20. Would have liked to pick up one win, but certainly nobody thought we'd get as far as we did. Helluva job, fellas.
  21. Okay, THAT was ugly. We'll try again on Sunday.
  22. A number of teams this year had licensing deals with Topps and used card images on their season seats. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Kerry-Wood-Last-Game-Strikeout-Unused-Season-Ticket-Mint-Cubs-Baseball-/110892837572?pt=Vintage_Sports_Memorabilia&hash=item19d1ba6ac4
  23. I know it's a SSS, but Bay didn't hit a SINGLE ball to the right side? Whoa.
