  1. Except EYJr is basically Jordany without the pop. I don't get why he'd replace him, unless they're really fed up with JV1 in the clubhouse.
  2. G-Fafif wrote: DONNIE RAINBALL Mattingly Homecoming Doused By Boss' Heavenly Tears Braves drop pair This made me laugh out loud.
  3. Yep, Panini used the cartoony Triple Play brand to evade the MLB licensing issue, but the cards are awful. They're the official NBA/NHL card licensees; Topps has MLB and the NFL.
  4. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: It was one of those half-solution type guys, like Rick Ankiel. Not worth it to move heaven and earth for an extra bullpen arm, so here's a guy who used to do it and maybe he still can. He was quite bad IIRC. That's funny that you mention Ankiel, because midway through the 2017 season, I'm sure I'm going to post "Rick Ankiel was a Met?!?" at some point.
  5. I'm honestly surprised, with all the celebrity insert type cards, that a BNB insert set hadn't happened yet. (Personally, I'd love a Major League set.)
  6. He's only 26. I doubt that he's "done." But if the over-under was, say, fifty... I'd take the under.
  7. Starring Stony Brook's own Tom Koehler, who I'm assuming will be expected to go at least eight today.
  8. I remember LJ walking around the college fair with his dad at Greenwich HS several years ago. (I do not, however, remember seeing Matt Harvey at Fitch.)
  9. It'd be fun to draft Biggio The Younger, I think.
  10. By the way, TOTALLY not an optimist any more. Just sayin'.
  11. Edgy MD wrote: Good point. Yon't even find the odd "Chico' out there anymore. I was curious. Last MLB Chico: Walker, 1993. (Unless you count Jose Lind, who lasted until 1995.) Before that: Chico Ruiz, 1980. Last MILB Chico: Cortez, PHI, 2005. Before that: three guys in the mid-90s. That's it.
  12. Yeah, but Ike and Tejada were in there. That's gotta get an asterisk.
  13. An analysis of Topps' work on the Mets: http://nightowlcards.blogspot.com/2012/05/team-colors-mets.html You can add "orange" for 2013, making it a tie with blue.
  14. Right, but those were the actual 82 Topps Mets colors. Just won a box of this on the Beckett Media live YouTube feed, by the way. Box included a Ron Darling autographed card. BAZINGA
  15. No McReynolds in my packs today, but got these.
  16. Gut reaction is Reggie. A's/O's/Y's/Angels.
  17. Fman99 wrote: Should be Gee. Will end up being Hefner, at least at first. This.
  18. The only problem is that they do not have the ability to not be total assholes, all the time. Just once I'd like to see them gracious in defeat.
  19. Five pitches for Hefner in the third. Much better.
  20. Marlon Byrd, bustin' out the whoopin' stick. 6-0.
  21. Kaat was my guess.
  22. Edgy MD wrote: Plenty of good seats to the see the Marlins next weekend. Ooh. And one of those games is going to likely be a Tom Koehler game.
  23. Wally Matthews?
