  1. Eight of us from my office headed to section 132 on Friday night.
  2. Minors/others for me: Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, Norwich CT, New Britain CT, Lakewood NJ, Somerset NJ, Brooklyn, and the Ducks.
  3. Not too many for me: Citi Field Citizens Bank Park Marlins Park Miller Park Nationals Park Fenway Park Whatever The White Sox Stadium Is Called Now tour, but no game: Wrigley Field plus: Shea Stadium Old Yankee Stadium Olympic Stadium The Vet
  4. Edgy MD wrote: Travis Snider (injured at the present time) Of course he is, because Mets.
  5. Lefty Specialist wrote: Jeez, there isn't ANYONE in the minors who can play the outfield competently? Picking up Aoki just sounds like a waste...... I agree. If he's not in the plans for 2018 -- and I can't think of a really compelling reason why he would be -- then he does nothing for us. I'd rather see what we've got in Travis Snider, I guess.
  6. G-Fafif wrote: Astro video packages and their seventh-inning stretch jam, "Deep In The Heart Of Texas," were played. Well done, Rays. Well done.
  7. cooby wrote: Cepedes on DL according to my Fantasy League Even in our fantasies, these guys are hurt.
  8. Ashie62 wrote: How many outfielders do we have? As far as Terry's concerned, 25! Got a glove? GET OUT THERE!
  9. Edgy MD wrote: That'll leave the team with 14 pitchers 11 batters on the roster, only three of whom are outfielders. Is there a number where I can report roster abuse? Like "position" matters at this point. Just stick them out there wherever. Have them rotate every inning, Little League-style.
  10. They could just trade him to a contender for a single-A assistant hitting coach or something.
  11. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Jayce Boyd not in the lineup! Probably because he was struck by lightning and is expected to miss 4-80 weeks.
  12. Other teammates Kevin McReynolds (6th) and Daryl Boston (7th) in that draft too.
  13. Edgy MD wrote: Here's hoping d'Kong recovered the homerun ball. To judge by his photos, there is only a few dozen other folks at the ballpark to compete with him. And we know he's taller than MetFairy, so he's got a better reach.
  14. Kenta Maeda, through 22 games: 11 wins, 111.1 innings, 111 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.11.
  15. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: And they put Matt Reynolds in right field? What happened to Zimmo? Eaten by bears. Should miss 5-7 days.
  16. Mets gonna Mets.
  17. Edgy MD wrote: I'm guessing he's totally not going to find another line of work. "Looking at your resume here, you've got a LOT of gaps in your history where you didn't seem to be doing much of anything."
  18. And thus, "Incrediboy" Rhame is born.

  20. When he beats the Yankees to eliminate them from the playoffs on the last weekend of the season, you'll all thank him.
  21. Tom Koehler to Toronto gives me reason to update. Majors: Tropeano (Angels): Will miss 2017 with TJS. Expects to pitch in a Fall League somewhere. Minors: Koehler (Toronto): Was awful in Miami, great in AAA... we'll see where the Jays start him. Jankowski (AAA San Diego): Spending the rest of the month in AAA (.241/.353/.322 in 87 AB) recovering from a foot injury, then back in ten days when rosters expand. Cantwell (AA Toronto): 5-34 with his two teams, now on the DL. Hasn't played since May 8. Krause (A+ Pittsburgh): .281/.369/.461 with 9 HR in 256 AB. Has slowed down some. Zamora (A+ Pittsburgh): 1.89 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP in 52 1/3 innings. MacEachern (A Miami): 2-2, 4.15 in 21 2/3 innings out of the pen. Last pitched on 8/12, and his MILB page says "released," but I can't find any other news. Honahan (R MFYs): 6.91 in 14 1/3 innings across three teams. Indy: Tissenbaum (Quebec, Can-Am): .359/.457/.590 with 12 HR in 273 AB, splitting time between catching and second base. Campbell (Wichita, American Assoc): 3.19 ERA in 31 innings of relief. Parenty (Schaumburg, Frontier): .276/.317/.302 in 192 AB.
  22. Since I brought it up last night -- Tom Koehler AAA update, for what it's worth: 1.67 ERA in 37 2/3 innings (seven games), with 55 K. (Sigh.)
  23. Bet you all miss ol' Tom Koehler NOW.
  24. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: He's mopey and feels sorry for himself. We should trade him for a guy who isn't mopey and doesn't feel sorry for himself. "I prefer pitchers who don't give up runs, okay?"
  25. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I also hope Ricco discovers a new market inefficiency. "We're going to try just signing whoever and playing them out of position on purpose."
