He won't get a big six year 100+M contract from the Mets (he said hopefully), but at some point when his price comes down, then sure, let's have a chat. Some of his non-Cy seasons are pretty pedestrian, stats wise. -

We've noticed at Syracuse football & basketball games that in addition to cheerleading squads, they now also have dance groups. They wear bootie shorts and shake what God gave em. It's great.

I have a coworker who moonlights in the media booth here in Syracuse, so sometimes during AAA Mets games I can go upstairs to the broadcasters' room and be a fly on the wall behind the official scorer, scoreboard administrators, and the PA announcer Nick. He had a particularly smooth way of announcing this batter's plate appearances, stressing the "u" sound in Arauz in a culturally accurate yet still emphatic fashion. "Now batting, the second basement, Jonathan Ah-Rah-UUUZZZZ."

Very few of my memories of him involve actual game play. His glove was not as strong in 2023 as it had been in years' past. I think that was what led to his DFA

Montgomery and Snell are the two best FA pitchers left and they're both 31. I don't think Unkie Steve wants to throw big bucks at older guys. He learned with Verlander & Scherzer that it doesn't work.
