  6. 107 K's and 12 BB's is pretty damn impressive.
  7. Took in our last game of the season, last night, a 4-3 walk off walk in the 10th giving the Mets the win over the hated AAA MFYs of Scranton Wilkes Barre. Sat with a couple of my run club buddies and their families and had a nice time. Won a $10 Dave & Buster's gift card, too, thanks to having a "lucky signature" of Mike Vasil in my program.

  9. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Some people think of Sex and the City when they think of Kim Cattrall. The real ones think of Mannequin. OK so I'm the only one who thinks of her from the scene in Porky's where she bangs some guy in the gym and howls like a dog the entire time. Riiiiiiight
  10. =TransMonk post_id=138022 time=1695402974 user_id=71] Yes. I feel like he is a net-positive known quantity. I'm not interested in cycling through the Callaways and Rojases again.

  12. Edgy MD wrote: I typed "Joe Jackson" in several times as today's 200-hit White Sock, and nobody came up until I realized I had to submit him as "Shoeless Joe Jackson." Now I know I have to type "Mopey" if I ever want to submit Mike Piazza. Also, holy crap! Ken Griffey, Jr. was a White Sock! I only recall this because there was an episode where he was captured on camera dozing in the dugout during a late season game sometime near the very end of his tenure there.

  15. Hate the Fox broadcasters. And the Phillies and their mouth breathing fans. But I do love those powder blue throwback jerseys. That's some vintage 1983 right there
  16. =kcmets post_id=137491 time=1694724073 user_id=53] I have never darkened a Domino's doorway, but Bacon JalapeΓ±o Stuffed Cheesy Bread looks and sounds quite intriguing.
  17. Let's Go Mets! Ribeye dubs by Nimmo to tie up this game on the Mets last up
  18. ⚾️ Immaculate Grid 170 9/9: Rarity: 138 IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 I had to ponder that Boston column to get this one. 19. =G-Fafif post_id=137661 time=1694968758 user_id=55] Dennis D'Agostino, who worked under Jay Horwitz in Mets PR in the 1980s before moving on to the Knicks, has died of a heart attack at 66. He wrote what, at its time of publication (following the 1980 season), was one of the most remarkable books any Mets fan could pick up: This Date in New York Mets History. The title doesn't begin to describe what a treasure trove of information and insight it was, Mets Internet before such a thing existed. Not just the data, but the warmth. It may have been the first time I read something by a Mets fan that spoke the Mets language β€” one of us when, again, those voices weren't readily accessible unless you knew a guy. He stayed active in sports for many years while living in Southern California. Wrote Keepers of the Game, recording the memories of the last generation of baseball beat writers from when it was still all about newspapers, plus Garden Glory, a really thoughtful and knowing oral history of the Knicks. I exchanged a couple of notes with him over the years. A very nice man.
  20. I was watching Syracuse football instead.
  21. I want to know more about his gWAR rating though.
