  1. ="duan"]weird trivia. I worked on the Hanson tour back in 1998 and they were very nice young gentlemen. They were guys? /starts ripping posters down
  2. Wow.
  3. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Fman, why do you hate America so? OK, you root for Jeter and Rollins, Seo J. Rogers. I'm going to, uh, you know, uh, not.
  4. I watched the highlights on ESPN this morning... I watched the first two innings last night but then got distracted by chores, parenting, etc. So, my reaction is -- yay. They won. Whoopity. Funny to see them piling up in front of, what, 11k fans? I like the fact that Putz (IP, 0 ER, 2K), Wright (game winning hit), Beltran (catch) and Delgado (dinger) all seem to have acquitted themselves well -- but that's a Mets fan talking. So who do we have left that's playing? K-Rod, Wright, Putz? Is that it now?

  6. ="metirish":aly2k2h1]Rick Sutcliffe remarked that Wright going in like he did to break up that DP was inspired by Jeter - " just by being around Jeter and being exposed to him has brought David to a higher level , he's a wonderful young man....Wright too"[/quote:aly2k2h1] Mmmmm, lemme slurp up some of the vomit in my mouth. Delish.
  7. Mr. Cashman? Yeah, it's me, Alex. Do you know what the best thing is to remove semen stains from a mirror? OK, call me back.
  8. ="John Cougar Lunchbucket"]This is the thread where we keep tabs on the biggest addition to the 2009 bullpen, Rule 5 draftee Rocky Cherry. ]As a young boy, Orioles reliever Rocky Cherry found a poster of a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader while rummaging through his house. Then he found out that his mother had been more than a third-grade Catholic school teacher. Surprise. Merry Cherry was part of the famed Cheerleading squad in 1975 and 1976 - three years before her son was born. "Now that I look back, it was a pretty cool accomplishment," he said. "She's done well with it. She does those reunions and gets to go back, and I get to meet some of the newer cheerleaders because she's hanging out with them, so that's a good thing. "When she first did it, it actually was a real big deal. She got paid very well, and they flew her to a lot of places to do car shows and boat shows and stuff like that. It was a great opportunity for her, and she really enjoyed it." Not only isn't Cherry the first celebrity in his family, he doesn't even have the coolest name. That distinction goes to his mother. "With a name like that," he said, "I guess you're destined to be a Cheerleader." Merry Cherry? I'd like to get into her Nancy Pantsies, turn her into Betty Sweaty, and then leave her as June Ruined.
  9. Seriously. Flush this fucking WBC away.
  10. Daily roster moves, cooby.
  11. ="LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr"]But really, they're like the Drunk, Fat in jeans but I'd still get all up in that Jessica Simpson of the NL Central. /fixed
  12. Coen brothers' drama starring Billy Bob Thornton and an ensemble cast. Watched it on my Zune while traveling for work last week and liked it.
  13. Nymr83 wrote: willpie wrote: We could still use more managers. I really don't want to open this league up to the hordes at yahoo, but I just don't have enough teams yet. we won't at any point open the league up to strangers. but everyone who has joined feel free to invite someone you know now. I will post the link on the boards for the other leagues I am in. The prizes should serve as incentive to join (it worked for me).
  14. Edgy DC wrote: Broxton doesn't look as enormous as I remember him from last year. IIRC he has a large dumper.
  15. Me, being the great husband that I am, have decided to forgo the WBC and hang out with my wife while she watches some network dreck (in this case, "Celebrity Apprentice"). Because that's how I roll. (Gin helps) Plus the WBC does not count. Once there are Mets games on my ass is upstairs.
  16. ="bmfc1":2vpsau41]"Why did I sign with the Nationals?" Tavarez said told a group of reporters. "When you go to a club at 4 in the morning, and you're just waiting, waiting, a 600-pounder looks like J. Lo. And to me this is Jennifer Lopez right here. It's 4 in the morning. Too much to drink. So, Nationals: Jennifer Lopez to me."[/quote:2vpsau41] Wow, that's just great. I've taken a lot of 4 AM J-Lo's home in my time, good for him. I go back to George Carlin's quote, "I never had a '10'... but one night I had five '2's." seawolf17 Mar 15 2009 08:37 PM Dude, Geneseo was like 80% female. Gotta do better than "4 AM J-Los."
  17. Edgy DC wrote: Yeah, how about Holland getting to keep their Caribbean islands and we don't? We got the Virgin Islands (well, some of them). What's better than that? Whore Island.
  18. Bump again. One more owner would be awesome (we have 11)...
  19. Wags was one of the 10-12 best goatfuckers ever to come out of that bullpen.
  20. Oh my, he sullied the Cathedral! Gosh.
  21. Didn't he try and knock a batted ball down once by hucking his glove at it? That might've been when he was still a Dodger.
  22. See ya, thanks for 2006 Duaner. The purging of the 2007-2008 bullpen mess continues... Smith (though he would've been welcome back), Wagner on the shelf, Heilman, Schowey, Ayala, Sosa, etc., and now ol' Filthy Sanchez too. I wouldn't even mind seeing Pedro Feliciano get cut loose at this point... he's got the stink of association on him. Kudos to cutting him now, give them 3-4 weeks to determine who to give his slot to.
  23. Sorry, I have only done the serpentine style drafts myself.
  24. According to the NY Post... ] Are you sitting down? Sad news. For the first time in four years, the MLB season will open without Giuseppe Franco's "ProCede" hair replacement elixir serving YES's Yankee telecasts and SNY's Met games as a primary sponsor. According to sources, ProCede has sustained some setbacks. Hey, when your generosity is such that you sell a $450 product for only $19.95, that's bound to happen.
  25. Our fifth starter candidates all suck.
