  1. Hate MLB and the networks for not making all of these games prime time and just letting viewers watch their team.
  2. The Piazza home run to cap the big comeback against Atlanta when they won 10-8 (June 2000). David Wright's ASG HR
  3. I wonder if Senga is a 2-3 inning opener with Megill coming in after that for game 1?
  4. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Yes, it's nice to be able to take a breather. I'm remembering how much fun October 2015 was. I've been wanting another month like that. Maybe this will be it. I definitely don't remember much about individual games or moments from 2015, though I watched every inning of that Mets postseason, but I definitely remember enjoying all of those extra weeks of Mets baseball. More = better
  5. Benny Agbayani's 13th inning walk off to beat the Giants in game 3 of the 2000 NLDS comes to mind. I will rant (again) about the stupidity of the post wild card winning champagne showers. You advanced and that's great, but the NFL teams don't do this after every playoff win. They just keep playing. To me there should be 3 occasions for the goggles and drenching - 1) clinched the playoff spot, 2) won the pennant, and 3) winning the World Series. All the other stuff is just in between stuff you need to do to get from 1 -> 2 and 2 -> 3.
  6. In the current format there have been three years of best-of-3 wild card rounds, 12 series in total. The Mets were involved in the only two that went three games. All ten of the others were 2-0 sweeps.
  7. We're in gravy time now. This is what I had voted for two months ago as "what would it take for you to consider this a successful season" - to me it meant advancing farther and acquitting themselves better than the 2022 squad that limped in and then flopped. So they've done that. But now I want more. I'm greedy. Keep winning, keep playing.
  8. ⚾️ Immaculate Grid 551 9/9: Rarity: 94 IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 NYY/LAD - Steve Sax 16 CWS/LAD - Paul Konerko 6 200W/LAD - Orel Herscheiser 9 NYY/WAS - Tim Raines 12 CWS/WAS - Bartolo Colon 6 200W/WAS - Pedro Martinez 30 NYY/20W - Jim Bouton .9 CWS/20W - Wilbur Wood 14 200W/20W - Pud Galvin .7
  9. Early speculation is that a well rested Tylor Megill will face off against Zack Wheeler in game 1 Saturday. That makes sense to me, he'd be the only starter ready to go on normal rest, having not pitched since Monday.
  10. =seawolf17 post_id=173891 time=1728008958 user_id=91] My house shook after that home run the way I was jumping around the living room. My wife and I joked that it felt like Shea.
  11. =Centerfield post_id=173881 time=1728008190 user_id=65] Did this really happen
  12. I can't even tell you how amazing that was
  13. Peterson throwing in the pen. Two run lead. Everything coming up Milhouse
  14. Diaz in the 7th makes as much sense as any other damn stupid thing. FML
  15. Six brilliant innings by JQ. Now, uh, hitters? Wake TFU
  16. Brewers going to the pen with Myers dominating and not even at 70 pitches. Which is just nanners to me
  17. Quintana doing a nice job working around these base runners
  18. I don't like this Jackson Cheerios kid. I hope he sprains his anus and has to come out
  19. This pitcher stole Carlos Beltran's weird ear/neck mole
  20. =ashie62 post_id=173634 time=1727997032 user_id=90]Lindor! Whew!
  21. Having a throbbing erection due to nervousness is normal, right? Asking for my cat
  22. "Remember, Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."
