  1. They all qualify for the Cliff Claven answer, "Who are three guys who have never been in my kitchen?"
  2. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: They have one more good run in them, you just know it. Maybe it's the back to back wins, or the gin, but tonight I thought this very thing.
  3. Mr. Met, still the best mascot out there. And the new SNY spots starring Mr. Met, also enjoyable.
  4. I continue to blame LaRussa and Eckersley for the 9th inning, three out "closer." Most of these guys couldn't carry Rollie Fingers' jock.

This whole thread is great -- it's the reason I hang around this joint. It's the perfect mix of insight, smarmy jokes and scathing contempt for management. It's like carpooling with the Manson family.

  7. Remember when he sucked for a year and a half?
  8. GO drinking because our team sucks arse
  9. Ugh

  11. Lame.
  12. Luckily I have a F-U attitude. Fuck you, Martino.
  13. Nice presentation! I especially like the "Dear Chase" letter. It made me want to leave a flaming fudgebag on his doorstep (do the kids still do that?).

Season actually doesn't end just because they're not going to win the World Series. I can still watch them and try and catch a win or two before the summer ends. Don't be that guy. I know you're sad... I'll come down to the beltway and give you a hug. It's all good, hugs are free!
  16. Cohen made a good point the other night -- Dickey seems to be able to drop that knuckler in for called strikes, the way a 12-6 curve guy like Zito can/could do. Unlike a lot of other knuckleballers, like Wakefield, who look for K's and poorly hit balls on pitches out of the zone. Whatever he's doing, it makes me moist and I hope he can sustain it.

I'd like to speak to Jason Bay to get an update on his concussion." "Hi Ray. This is Bay. But you can call me Jay." "Jay?" "Ray?" "Yeah Jay?" "I'm feeling better, man." "That's great! How much?" "Way!" "Way?" "Way. You can tell 'em, Ray, that Jay Bay is a-okay!" "Okay! Glad to hear it....Jay, Jay...you sure you're a-okay?" "Hello?" "Jay, this is Ray." "Ray who?" "Jay, you sure the concussion is coming around?" "Hold on, I'll go get him." This made my satchel hurt.
  18. I turned it off after the Wright error. Jeez.
