It's pretty clear that Baty comes back to the 'Cuse to find his swing when McNeil's ready. He waits in the wings for an injury at one of the positions he's shown he can field, at least.

I'm "watching" on mlb.com gameday. How the hell did Acuna get a double out of a gb to SS? The 3B tried to barehand it and missed. The SS was out of position and the ball trickled into short left field and Acuna took advantage

First back to back losses this season. Had to happen eventually I guess. Much like the road trip that started the season the Mets went 3-3. So if you're splitting series on the road and winning them at home then you're in good shape. First place Mets come home today for 7 games against STL (four) and then Philly (3). I'd like to see them win both series and go 5-2 here.

Hate the ghost runner. Even when it helps the Mets win I hate it. It's so phony and arbitrary. Why not have a ghost runner every inning? Maybe add a fifth base?

I am hoping #42 has a big game for the Mets today. Not sure if I've mentioned this, but my father and his brother as kids both got to meet Jackie Robinson, as my grandmother was the president of the Little League in which they both played, in Flushing in the mid 1950s, and I have seen old newspaper photos of my grandmother standing next to him at a season ending banquet at which JR was the featured guest. I'll have to see if I can find those newspaper clippings the next time I visit with my uncle.

Looks good from the trailer and has good reviews. I cannot endure a movie theater at this point in my life, I'm too old and too annoyed by commercials and adjacent phones and really just everything that is stupid and annoying, so I'll have to catch it once it's streaming.

The Mets' web site seems to think the most likely plan, should Taylor continue to suck wind, is to have Acuna play more CF and then use Baty and ultimately McNeil at 2B.

I did not make it to the end of yesterday's game, though I felt that being up 5-1 with the current bullpen's performance that it was a pretty safe lead.
