Had to ponder HOU/SEA for a good long while to come up with someone that wasn't Randy Johnson ⚾️ Immaculate Grid 705 9/9: Rarity: 29 IMMACULATE! 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩 NYY/SEA - Ken Phelps 4 NYY/PIT - Francisco Cervelli 4 NYY/2000K - Catfish Hunter 3 NYM/SEA - JJ Putz 1 NYM/PIT - Donn Clendenon 2 NYM/2000K - Warren Spahn 2 HOU/SEA - Ryan Stanek 3 HOU/PIT - Derek Bell 3 HOU/2000K - Andy Pettitte 8
  4. By the end of May he'll be carrying Brett Baty's stuff around for him.
  5. =MFS62 post_id=186475 time=1741048571 user_id=60] Two scoreless innings each for Senga and Peterson. Later
  6. Five shutout innings in the game 4 clincher against the Phillies. Six shutout innings in the game 3 clincher prior to that against the Broo Croo. Yes, I know, the Dodgers knocked him around in the NLCS, but they did that to lots of guys last fall. Took the ball and more often than not had good results - a 3.70 ERA across 44 starts in 2023-2024.

  13. I have no recollection of Jay Payton in an Oakland uni. I think of him as a Met and subsequently in Denver
  14. Who taught these kids how to apply eye black, anyway? They look like would-be MCU characters out there
  15. Lindor + Acuna look particularly smooth as your SS/2B combo out there
  16. Edgy MD wrote: Do you think that is our Opening Day top five? I do think those five guys hit 1-5 on Opening Day. I don't know if this is the order in which they bat though. Certainly I'd slot these dudes ahead of the projected remaining Opening Day guys (McNeil, Siri, Alvarez and Winker/Marte). I would assume also that Alvarez bats sixth in this configuration.

  19. I work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays. Tomorrow there is a 1:10 PM SNY broadcast. I shall tune in while I do my work. Pretty excited to watch a Mets game, as practicey as it may be
  20. I remember watching Timo Perez during his brief tenure as a featured member of the Mets lineup. It seemed like as soon as he got 2 strikes on him he swung at everything, no matter how close or far off of the zone a pitch was. I remember thinking also that if I noticed it, surely other pitchers have also. And probably they did. He flamed out pretty quick.
  21. Given enough time I would have come up with just Alonso (because it was fairly recently), Matsui (because he hit the HR) and Ordonez (throwing out someone from his knees up the left field line). And none of the rest, presumably.

Watching the Mets watch party at Citi Field has the additional bonus of hearing Howie's brilliant call of the home run. Man, he is great.
  23. Finally some rotation depth acquired. Pitched to the tune of a 3.80 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 32 games (9 starts) with Texas last year. Not able to confirm or deny that his name translates to "Joe Urine."
