  2. Cazale was a tremendous actor. I love the boathouse scene in Godfather II, specifically.
  3. Dances with Smurfs
  4. Just watched this today. I liked it. Nothing remarkable, but good popcorn chewing entertainment. But Leonard Nimoy needs some new dentures. I kept waiting for his teeth to come flying out and start chattering on the ground a la "Beetlejuice."
  5. I'd rather watch my parents copulate than suffer through this pablum.
  6. Woo hoo for me! A 20 point bump from the halfway point (thanks, Tommy Hanson) means I'm looking at a cool $25 Amazon GC for most improved 2nd half! And that will be the extent of my "winnings" this year in fantasy baseball. Looking forward to the CPF-exclusive NL only for 2010.
  7. Harmless fun.
  8. My boy is inked, $895k. Wondering which minor league team he's going to be assigned to.
  9. Edgy DC wrote: The funny thing is how many of the scenes in this film you may have seen in other Clint Eastwood films. Clint ominously coughing shit up? Honky Tonk Man. Funny, I went right to In the Line of Fire on that one. But you're right, for every movie you list above you could swap out another one.
  10. I have to believe you made the entire thing up. So, in that case, nice work. Sounds plausibly terrible.
  11. I voted for "Sixteen Candles," but wouldn't have any qualm with someone who voted for "Breakfast Club" or "Weird Science." If you can't fit Anthony Michael Hall in your movie, and it's 1985, then it's shit. OE: I loved Planes Trains and Automobiles also.
  12. I left off "She's Having a Baby," if you're mad about that then punch yourself in the neck please.
  13. Still have not seen this -- I don't get to the movies much anymore. But the book covers in depth not only Dillinger, but Nelson, Floyd, the Barker gang, Bonnie and Clyde and Machine Gun Kelly all with great detail and minus the inaccuracies and liberties taken by the filmmakers in the name of dramatic license. I'd recommend the book to anyone -- very enjoyable non-fiction.
  14. After going 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA in A ball (Florida State League), Owen is back in AA and had a good start yesterday, a no decision but went 7 2/3 IPs, 4 H, 1 BB, 7 K, 0 R. Still winless in 11 AA starts this year. This last one though brought his AA ERA down to 6 for the season.
  15. Watched this tonight on my Zune while on a 3 hour layover in an airport. It had some funny moments but large parts of it were boring to me. I gave it a 6.

Like Lenny treated the mouse in "Of Mice and Men," at the beginning that is. And if you find some navy #2 tees in his bureau on one of your home visits, does he get the treatment that mouse got later on? Maybe. Last thing I need is to hear my boy's talk of soft rain falling. The flip side is that my wife was a Yankees fan when I met her and I converted her to the good guys' side. So no one is beyond redemption.

  18. Knocked around in AA ball for a couple of months and you get what my boy got -- a demotion back to PSL. Pitching for the moment as a long man on that squad.
  19. Read the book and found it particularly vapid. Read "Da Vinci Code" and saw the movie, more of the same.
  20. Not a good start for D.O. in AA as his ERA stands at 7.24. Pitcher Age IP H R ER BB SO HBP HR ERA Dylan Owen 22 5.2 5 3 3 2 6 0 0 7.24
  21. My boy is starting '09 where he finished '08, about 75 miles or so south of where I currently reside. He did not appear in the major league camp this year and I did not hear much buzz about him. This is a pivotal season for him.
  22. Ten owners is weak. Not much we can do about that. I am going to be home but also helping with the kids and such. Hopefully I will be able to make some of my own picks. Yahoo's auto-drafter is an a-hole.
  23. I am autodrafting, I will not likely be able to get to a computer Sunday night. I still think I will win though.

(297) Mark Loretta 2B,3B I definitely wanted a couple more power/speed guys to go with Beltran, but this isn't a terrible start. Also: Shawn Hill signed with the Padres and not the Blue Jays. That should work out for me until his arm falls off again. No closers... though some will pop up during the season, Putz and Rauch both looking like 8th inning guys on their respective teams. In NL only I feel like you have to have at least one guy who is going to not get yanked out of that slot. Hopefully Valverde is that guy for me.
