    I bitched about the lack of concurrent games in this round, but then I took a sick day (legitimately due to illness) and I've been watching playoff baseball non stop since about 3 PM or so, and I'll say, hey, maybe it's pretty good. Helps that the MFYs and Nats both lost.

    Done deal! Bought a PS4 from a coworker who wasn't using it. Just ordered a Fire Stick for the downstairs TV (which can view all the PS Vue content over WiFi), and an HDTV antenna for the upstairs TV (which has good window access), and a PS4-savvy remote (to ease the transition, their consoles don't have IR so I had to get a BT one that will work with it). Going to call FIOS today to drop the land line and TV packages and set up my 7 day free trial this weekend. Onward! Been streaming lots of sports from Reddit streams to my Chromecast. It's an extra manual step but once it's up and running it's good to go. That will likely be the norm for me for 2018 Mets games, unless a better alternative presents itself.

    MLB's outright refusal to schedule simultaneous playoff games is just the dumbest thing going. Like a 2 PM start is somehow better than two prime time games to choose from.

    I'll still put them on the TV during the week this week, out of habit, but these summery September weekends have been just a lil' too nice for me to concern myself with Metly things, given the quality of play.

    We generally prefer to not sit behind the netting. And when we do not, I am sure to be in the line between the plate and where my kids sit. When Fmom comes up from Florida and takes in a game with us we always sit behind the plate. Because she's just watching the world go by. Seats behind the plate, at least here in the 'Cuse, are often easier to get than those just past the screens. I find it distracting as do the kids. Fly balls are tougher to track. I've taught the kids to watch the fielders to get a sense of how far the ball was hit.

    We're more cognizant of it at our local AAA park, only because the screens go as far there as they do at the House that A-Rod built, and because we often get field level seats for these games and we're exposed to some screaming line drives.

    We watched it. A win is a win. I'd love for them to get to 70 wins this year. They'd have to go 6-8 to do that. For some reason 69-93 just looks and sounds worse than 70-92. Maybe it's me.

    Good input, thanks all. I've decided in my mind that it's time to cut some costs, and the family is on board. They're all big on recorded content, anyway, and I'm pretty tech savvy and I have faith in my ability do pull down the content we all want and need. It's mostly about convenience in doing so.
