1. Had a gig. Left to drive home with the score tied 2-2. Got home and they were losing. I did not pursue trying to find an illegal stream of the stupid Apple TV feed because what would have been the damn point
2. =metirish post_id=195778 time=1750433556 user_id=72] Gary sound awful bitter telling us during the game last night that Apple , Fox and ESPN have the games this weekend, meanwhile Keith is like fine I'll be grilling out in Sag
3. Summer starts today. Let's get on the good foot. Blade Tidwell with an ERA north of 14, taking the bump against some Zack Wheeler guy. Flash in the pan, I bet
4. =Centerfield post_id=195746 time=1750382338 user_id=65] I'm out. Gnite all.
5. Tough game to watch. No me likee
6. Pierce Johnson, sound painful
7. As per the Syracuse Mets' Instagram page, Mark Vientos is expected to be in the lineup tonight. We're attending tomorrow's game and hope to see him then.
8. Right, and several teammates aren't sure he wil Anyway here's one article https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/zack-wheeler-plans-to-retire-after-2027-mlb-season-is-phillies-ace-headed-for-hall-of-fame/https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/zack-wheeler-plans-to-retire-after-2027-mlb-season-is-phillies-ace-headed-for-hall-of-fame/ Seems like if he finishes the 2027 season, at age 37, and still has good stuff, there's no reason why he might not just sign a sequence of short term 1-2 year deals (not unlike what Verlander + Scherzer have done) to extend his career as long as he's still great. Which he is, to be sure.
9. The new All-Star Game caps are, um, interesting. You spelled "fugly" wrong
10. A Lost Weekend that even John Lennon could be proud of
11. Edgy MD wrote: I was thinking Young for Mauricio. He looked quite overmatched in the at bat that ended the game (and many others of late).
12. Blackburn stinking in the dead of night
13. Mets also now have the best record in MLB at 45-24, a half game better than Detroit at 45-23, and a stellar 27-7 at home, also the best home record in baseball.
14. Just for context, this was Peterson's 98th career start as a Met, his second CG and his first shutout. Tom Seaver holds the club record for complete game shutouts in a career, having done it 44 times. Only seven other Mets (Kooz, Matlack, Gooden, Cone, Darling and Al Jackson) ever threw even ten of them as a Met. In his first three seasons, to make a more rough comparison to Peterson in terms of number of games started, Seaver started 104 games, completing 50 (!) of them, with 12 shutouts.
15. Fun team to root for. I had to pass on watching this as to go do something my wife chose for us to do that did not involve watching baseball.
16. Good stuff. Mets 8-2 in their last 10, Phillies 2-8 in theirs. The way life should be
17. =Centerfield post_id=195101 time=1749611313 user_id=65] Outside of Castillo, who struggled, the rest of the bullpen was perfect.
18. This is my new worst case scenario of course
19. Phillies and Braves both pick up a half game on the idle Mets with wins yesterday. I guess they can't lose every game, much as I would prefer that
20. We listened in the car on our way to a cookout and heard the first two HRs and a 4-0 lead. I was confident it was going to continue to be like that, which it was of course.
21. I got to the middle of the second. Happy that these late night sojourns are done for a few weeks as I missed most of the game action.
22. We attended the game. He looked good !
23. I went to bed after that debacle in the top of the 6th
24. =Centerfield post_id=194663 time=1749172820 user_id=65] Omg I just saw the Baty error. Ridiculous. Now I'm pissed.
25. I'd say an easy franchise for a Mets fan to pull for, being able to relate to being a big city's (historically) second most popular baseball team.
