    I don't know that the infield fly rule is any more or less arbitrary than the stupid extra runner. Maybe it's just been a thing for so long that I don't question it. The stupid extra runner, and the DH and the 6 run lead requirement for a position player to pitch, and potentially banning the shift, and a 3 batter minimum per pitcher, that's all just the worst crap.

    What a game, holy moly ! I caught most of the last two innings on the radio call as I was mowing my lawn. No Howie, today, which was a shame. Having said that, 1) I loved that Buck used Diaz in the 8th against the top of the lineup. Totally 100% the smart play 2) I don't like Lugo on back to back days and he clearly was off his best. I don't know that I'd have pulled him, though, against a .190 hitter with two outs 3) Medina showed some big stones in the 10th 4) I don't challenge the CI call in the bottom of that inning if I'm Dave Roberts. Taking the bat out of the hands of an All Star player? Dumb. Let him hit, he's got a better chance than any of the subsequent guys to plate the tying run

    Another strong performance by our #8 (as per spring training, depth-wise) starter today. Hopefully the Mets can get past Urias to the soft underbelly.
