    i was one of them until about 1999... (um, mets primary, but i didnt hate the yankees. then i started listening to sports talk radio too much, and could no longer wish well for the yanks) i think that your fathers fannish quirks are more likely the result of a lack of interest in baseball for 20 years than the fact that he roots for both teams. the last paragraph also has nothing to do with his rooting for both teams, either, as i doubt that all technophobia is also a common trait for two-teamers.

    from 2001 to 2005, gary walked on average 84 times per year, never reaching 100 in one of those seasons. last year, he walked only 13 times, but was injured. however, his 13 walks in 39 games comes out to only a 54-walk pace. this season, however, he's on pace for 102 walks, so maybe he is getting a few calls...

    i've gotta add that i hate when people yell "shot" when i'm trying to make a basket, when their intention is not to announce to their fellow defenders that a shot is being taken and therefore to prepare for a rebound, but rather to distract me from focusing my attention on the basket and thereby affecting my shot. them's shits are for the playgrounds, at best.
