  1. I don't need Einstein to tell me that the Pridies of the world are a dime a dozen. He's not Angel Pagan as much as he's Jeff Duncan, a guy who got a decent start to his career but gradually was revealed to be nothing particularly special.
  2. Dang woodchucks....there goes the fuel for the winter.
  3. Studious law student discovers to his chagrin that instead of wasting tens of thousands of dollars and years to pass his bar exam, all he really had to do was read a beer bottle label.
  4. Regardless of the legality or illegality of these games, you know full well that A-Rod's only going to get.... .......a slap on the wrist.
  5. Mr. Met is smart enough to be a manicurist, but dumb enough to attempt high-fives before his customers' nails have fully dried.

  7. Badly-leashed dog runs through poorly-secured construction site, and movie tie-in ensues.
  8. Mr. Met suffers humiliation for his poor penmanship at the hands of callous, insensitive co-workers.
  9. Michael Jordan endures harassment by airborne underwear fetishists.

I think they've quietly dispensed with the guns. After the Texas incident, they don't want anyone falling over a railing trying to get a crummy t-shirt. They're just throwing them now.
  11. Obscenely rich guy with bad glasses thinks you're inferior for not buying his car.
  12. Didn't Cairo go something like two months without an RBI when he was with the Mets?
  13. Capuano proving he's only a five-inning pitcher.
  14. I've often woken up at 3 AM wondering what would happen if it absolutely poured rain at the site of the All-Star game for two days and they couldn't play (not a factor this year, obviously). Who would get home field advantage in the World Series? Coin toss? Carnac the Magnificent? Jeter gets to pick? Rock, Paper, Scissors? What would happen?
  15. Derek Jeter? He's SO got an Edge. Totally.
  16. I was chuffed, but rest and therapy helped. As Metirish said, no one would have been surprised if this team was 10 under given all the injuries they've had. Hell, no one would have been surprised it they were 20 under. That they're above .500 at the break is a minor miracle. Collins gets a big attaboy for that. Can't be enthused, though, because they're going nowhere. They'll play over their heads, but there's no chance of a postseason for this bunch. And you have to think that one of the reasons they've been able to stay where they are, Carlos Beltran, will be gone by the end of the month.
  17. Even crappy offensive teams will score when you give them 3 extra outs in an inning.
  18. I like the stars- it's a nice touch. The hats, no. And I'm assuming this is just until the All-Star break. I would hope it wasn't for the rest of the year, because that'd be tacky.
  19. Fman99 wrote: I hope he tears his ACLs and simultaneously get hit in the crotch and anus by pitched and batted balls. Now THERE'S an HBO special I would watch.
  20. A chance to extend his 0-for-2011. Although his walks bring his OPS up to .294.
  21. Steve Somers is on a roll in the evenings, waiting for 'the weak ground ball past the second baseman that will be THE CAPTAIN'S 3000th base hit. As he's talking about him last night, Jeter obligingly strikes out while he's in the middle of his shtick. Priceless.
  22. Well, you're better than me- I'd have probably driven off the road.
  23. Insert spoon, begin gagging.
  24. If Lindsay Lohan was a baseball team, she'd be 11 games under .500, too.
  25. Daniel Murphy starring in "White Men Can't Jump".
