  1. Traded something we didn't need for something we did need. Works for me.
  2. Part 1: YES or NO 1) Curtis Granderson leads the club in HRs? (any ties count as a win for the YES answers) NO 2) Jenrry Mejia leads in saves? (same deal if there's a tie) YES Will be on the team's ML roster (or DL) the entire season? 3) Dillon Gee NO 4) Bartolo Colon NO 5) Travis d'Arnaud YES 6) Anthony Recker NO 7) Daniel Murphy NO 8) Ruben Tejada YES 9) Jonathon Niese YES 10) Terry Collins (has to be field manager for a YES to count - if demoted but stays in the org with a "special assistant" title or other such nonsense it doesn't count) YES Part 2: OVER/UNDER 11) Lucas Duda -- 29.5 HRs Under, but just barely 12) Michael Cuddyer -- 119.5 Starts Over, but just barely 13) Jenrry Mejia -- 19.5 Saves UNDER 14) Wilmer Flores -- 449.5 PAs OVER 15) Bartolo Colon -- 17.5 Starts OVER 16) David Wright -- 21.5 HRs (22 or more would surpass Straw's club record) UNDER 17) Kirk Nieuwenhuis -- 199.5 PAs OVER 18) Noah Syndergaard -- 19.5 ML Starts UNDER 19) Steven Matz -- 9.5 ML Starts UNDER 20) Brandon Nimmo - 49.5 ML PAs UNDER EITHER/OR - simply name one player or the other in each comparison 21) More PAs w/2015 NYM: Murphy or Herrera? 3. Needs to network better to make it to the majors....because it's not what Ynoa, it's who Ynoa.
  4. If I'm in control of Terry's mind, can I make him resign after giving a profanity-laced live interview where he calls Fred Wilpon a cheap asshole?
  5. 82-80. No playoffs. Outside of starting pitching, this team has no depth. Better luck next year.
  6. Kinda glad there's no Racist Chief Wahoo in Cleveland.
  7. Which gives us one last chance to post this.
  8. Okay, he's a douchebag, but he's OUR douchebag. I'll take what he's giving off the mound if he can perform ON the mound.
  9. Randy Tate tried. Honest he did. But he's the owner of a lifetime 0-for-41 with a stick in his hands in the one season he pitched in the majors (1975). What's so square about Sergio Ferrer?
  10. Binge-watches 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' on Netflix. Fills in for Hoda Kotb on the third hour of Today, which nobody watches anyway. Dates a Kardashian. Endless weeks antiquing in Bucks County searching for just the right wagon wheel to make a table out of. Finally gets to go to all those anime conventions he's been missing. Finds the true meaning of life from Llamas With Hats Builds a baseball field in the cornfield behind his house. Ghostly ballplayers show up to play games, then his long-dead dad appears. He asks him to have a catch. Throws one pitch and screams in excruciating pain because, hey, he just underwent elbow surgery.
  11. I wonder if they bought it at Rent-A-Center so Fred could pay in installments.
  12. The one I don't get is Old Dominion Freight Lines. I mean, who goes to a Mets game and has an epiphany about their trucking needs by looking at the Citi scoreboard? At least with Goya you can get hungry and start looking for chick peas at the concession stands.
  13. Why, any indication that this scoreboard roots for the Mets. Maybe they should change their name to the Buds, because there seems to be plenty of room for them....
  14. Boy, that's a rotator cuff waiting to happen. Bravado is fine, but if it doesn't get backed up you risk sounding like Rex Ryan the last two years- empty bluster that either gets derided or ignored.
  15. Boy, that's a baaad team. Somehow, though, you know they'll find a way to make things difficult for the Mets when they face them.
  16. You know, I'd be comfortable with Montero as the 5th starter. Unless somebody else's arm is about to fall off (cough, Niese, cough) and they haven't told us.
  17. One wonders if he hung on to Gee because he knew this was going to happen. An off-season MRI clears him to pitch and then suddenly he's got a torn ACL....makes you wonder if they saw something and were willing to let him pitch through it.
  18. Well, poop. So do they do the Mets thing and start stretching out Dillon Gee, or do they start the clock on Thor or Matz on Opening Day? Inquiring minds wanna know.
  19. I predict that when he's ready, he'll leave his onesie pajamas in Vegas and pitch like a stud. [fimg=500:vma7j3ot]http://mlb.mlb.com/assets/images/6/9/2/104807692/cuts/Noah_qkvz9h30_r6vym98l.JPG[/fimg:vma7j3ot] 7-4, 3.50, a strikeout per inning.

All I know is that whatever Jeff did, he did it as the owner of a baseball team, during the day to day running of his baseball team, and to an employee of his baseball team. But this current sycophant of a commissioner who replaced the old sycophant will probably now let Jeff hide behind this secret agreement, as if the NDA between Jeff and Leigh absolves MLB from conducting its own internal investigation. And besides, we all know that even if MLB ever did decide to investigate the matter, their findings would likely amount to a total whitewashing of the whole thing. The commissioner would've probably appointed Saul Katz to lead the investigation. If only Adam Silver were running MLB.... Because what if it turns out that Leigh Castergine's version of events is the right one? What if her accusations were truthful and accurate? How will the public ever know now? Does MLB close its books on the matter because the parties settled? And if so, doesn't that essentially say that an owner can buy his way out of any consequences for his bad acts? Yes it does, as long as the owner is a buddy of the commissioner. If not, you get the Frank McCourt treatment.
