  1. =nymr83 post_id=14647 time=1561858705 user_id=54] From ESPN: The game took 4 hours, 42 minutes -- the third-longest nine-inning game in MLB history. The two games that took longer also were Yankees-Red Sox games, with the record being 4:45 on Aug. 18, 2006. why we sent htose two teams of wankers over there to make everyone think baseball takes forever i don't know.
  2. I just can't vote for that Life cover. I want to find the nearest DeLorean, and smack that photo editor around
  3. I have had an irrational dislike for Vargas since the first time I saw him in Mets uniform. I had no idea why, until I saw him taking questions tonight. With his glasses and curls, he looks too much like my brother-in-law.
  4. =Centerfield post_id=14088 time=1561474729 user_id=65] I root for two teams basically. The Mets, and Syracuse basketball. Syracuse has had their ups and downs, and like the Mets, have produced exactly 1 championship during my lifetime. They've been sanctioned, and were the first #2 seed to lose in the NCAA tournament. Never, not once, have I ever questioned my fandom, asked myself why I bother rooting for them, or considered rooting for another team. I love the Mets much more than I love Syracuse. But the Wilpons make me question being a fan every day. And it just gets worse and worse.
  5. =Centerfield post_id=14011 time=1561403047 user_id=65] I'm the lone Straw vote. Loved Strawberry. Loved those SI covers from the 80's. Fully admit the Casey cover is iconic, and I'll probably vote that way the rest of the Derby, but I can't let my boy get shut out.

  8. Scene: Family room, my house: Me: **puts on game** Oh, they're actually up, 1-0 LittlestDGW: You know you just jinxed it.... Next pitch: Freeman HR to put the Braves up
  9. I'm actually surprised Alonso isn't higher on the list...
  10. Edgy MD wrote: Yadi is the only catcher I know who wears that Nike baskeball logo on his chest protector. It's so wrong. I find it fitting that he wears the silhouette of another athlete who drove a dagger straight through my heart.
  11. Benjamin Grimm wrote: What did he do in that at-bat? Gary Cooper probably would have hit a home run. He struck out.
  12. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I didn't submit my vote because they insisted on getting information from me and I didn't want to bother. Same here.

  14. I woke up still angry over the bullshit that happened last night
  15. I'm getting tired of Rosario...
  16. I was hoping he would sign in the Bronx, if only to be forced to shave that obnoxious beard.

  20. Still cracks me up...

  22. I'm with batmags on this one. It might not necessarily be a "fuck you" to the Wilpons, but a clipped, one sentence response, compared to his actual excitement for working with the A's, does speak volumes.
  23. We should be allowed to give negative points for blown saves, costly errors, not running out grounders, etc.
