  1. Strikes out like a ... well, like a Met. But if Duda moves to the DL and Cousin Brucie stays at first, they could do worse. Has looked up to José Reyes in the batting average rankings this year, which isn't a very good sign.
  2. Better Harvey than Montero or somebud.
  3. deGrom pushed back to Saturday with stiff neck. Harvey to go tonight. http://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/mets-jacob-degrom-start-pushed-back-with-stiff-neck/
  4. Nats' Leadoff Hitter Adam Eaton: .304 / .403 / .446 // .849. All Mets Leadoff Hitters Combined: .070 / .154 / .127 // .281.
  5. Fresno Grizzlies. Houston Astros affiliate, I believe.
  6. Fresno 10, Las Vegas 3 Portland @ Binghamton, delayed, rain Dunedin 6, St. Lucie 4 Lexington 2, Columbia 0 The whole organization got swept last night.
  7. Well, projected is indeed a vestige from earlier tables, but yeah, Mejia technically persists as a member of the Mets' roster. It's stupid that teams are allowed to retain the guy on their roster, while not counting his presence against the 40-man roster nor being obligated to pay his salary. The player is therefore asked to bear a draconian punishment while the team he was cheating on behalf of gets something akin to a win-win.
  8. It's also a no-brain situation to take a strike, but no. And when both Keith and Ronny are calling you out about it nightly, I'm not sure how the message can be missed. I think I'm going to write a letter.
  9. He's a rapid climber. A "quickie," as Branch Rickey would say. I'm seeing a mid-season callup to Vegas and his second straight season of rocking two levels.
  10. So, tomorrow ... Rivera and Taijeron? They can add a non-roster player after shelving Wright.
  11. If you remember, neither Eric Young nor Marlon Byrd was particularly good going back for the ball. So they just played deep. Real deep, sometimes. They had good speed, to different degrees, but they couldn't turn it on very well while tracking a ball over their head while running toward the wall or other outfielders. Coming in, they let it rip. Maybe the Mets need to back Céspedes up some. A modest proposal.
  12. And Rivera comes out swinging too.
  13. And he swings, and gets called out by Darling, for good reason. RON DARLING knows more about sensible hitting.
  14. d'Arnie, don't come out swinging.
  15. This inning is a walk in the mud, huh?
  16. Edgin gets a lot of Schaefer for his escape act, but Conforto's hustle has been a revelation this game.

  18. No solace from Salas.
  19. Syndergaard should have quick-pitched him. Let's go straight to Familia next inning.
  20. "Yoenis being Manny."
  21. Good move letting Syndergaard bat. Even if he doesn't face too many more guys, better to save your pinchies for higher leverage spots.
  22. Zvon wrote: Yo reportedly left the game because of a cramp. Even before the cramp, I'd have a hard time believing he'd have gotten within a dozen feet of that drive Conforto caught.
  23. Not sure what was more thrilling—Conforto making the catch or Conforto getting up afterwards.
