Chase d'Arnaud got DFA'd by the Braves yesterday. If they need infield depth for a few days, I thought he might be an alternative to Reynolds, if only in a cute way. Tyler Goeddel got DFA'd a few weeks ago, too. It's murder out there for Met kin.

Last I checked it was Dizz's biggest property. Marvel and Star Wars and stuff may have displaced it, but it's still a cash cow with a long-assed tail. ESPN.com, on the other hand, is probably more valuable as a landing place for a brand than as a quality product all on it's own. It's blocked at work for me. The only other non-porn sites I can think of that are blocked are a few dating sites. I wonder if the number of companies blocking them particularly hurt their bottom line.

It's a little early to be scoreboard watching, but there's some hot lineup action out there today. The Reds' starting pitcher is named "Rookie Davis." He is, you might have guessed, a first-year player. The Royals' infield includes Whit Merrifield at second and Cheslor Cuthbert at third. If it was 1958, I'm not sure which of these young academy students I'd choose for my cotillion escort. No word yet on whether Gift Ngoepe is in the lineup tonight for the Bucs. Hope he is.

Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the roster-juggling Pirates have called up infielder Gift Ngoepe. Ngoepe will be the first MLB player born in South Africa. Moreover, he will be the first MLB player born in Africa. I stumbled upon two separate guys on FB declaring, "He touched him so he's OUT!" How could sentient adults really not understand the basics of what constitutes tagging?
