Mets Put Jorge Polanco On Injured List With Wrist Contusion
Edgy MD replied to Steve Drumwright's topic in New York Mets Talk
The best thing about calling up Senger is that on the face of it, he promises to answer no needs, so he cannot disappoint. I guess this makes Alvarez 15% more of a fit for the regular righthanded DH, but other than that, a spectacularly inconsequential choice. -
We have three or four threads on the Mets offense going at once. One of them is called "Noffense." I have merging power but, I'm all hands-off these days.

Do everything you can to stay out of doubleplays. Eat, drink, and sleep on the thought of staying out of double-plays. Eventually, you will find yourself successfully avoiding hitting into single outs, too. Put off swinging as long as necessary into your count. Take pitches like a boss. Bunt. Steal. Hit and run. All these things attack the double play and force the other team to make more plays. It also helps to put contact hitters and patient hitters in your lineup. And tell your team to stop congratulating each other for hitting into hard outs. Celebrate soft success, not hard failure.

Way back when before the earth cooled and the Mets were managed by Yogi Berra, The Carol Burnett Show ran a sketch loaded with gay subtext (in which the sub- barely qualified), in which Harvey Korman and Steve Lawrence, as rival businessmen, fight over a client (Tim Conway) with the passion of spurned lovers — each desiring the client less for himself but for the pain it causes them to see him with another. Such is the case with young Richard Lovelady. "Benge trying to go to left again." On an inside pitch? As a lefty sluggerino, with a runner on second with no force on him? Let's pretend we've been coached, guys. -

They don't deserve to win in these unis. You're the Cubs. You are at home, at Wrigley, and you have a classic home white look. Show some self-respect. -

Lindor, first-pitch swinging into a double-play is so counter-productive. Avoid double-plays like the plague, and win. -
The Mets haven't had a righty-hittting outfielder? You are moving the goalposts by, like, a thousand miles. Please don't presume to give me orders. I'm not your subordinate. If you'd like something from me, please ask, nicely. But seeing as you have already moved the goalposts beyond the seas, the question has become irrelevant.
-
The Mets haven't had a righty-hitting rightfielder?
-
I'm not sure what you are basing that on. Doesn't everybody like shortstops, catchers, and lefty hitting outfielders?
-
Well, indeed, I exaggerated about "all season," but my point is that his option year does not end after his next callup. I am certain will not have to worry about Mauricio being called up and sent down five times. The rule is more about the abuse of bullpenners, but your correction is noted.
-
The Mets have been playing Waiver Wire Tug o' War with The Nationals over this guy for seemingly a year. They finally decided to get some $$ out of it and have traded the guy and his contract to Washington for filthy filthy cash. Hopefully this means AJ Minter is within shouting distance. Check out his repeatable delivery!
-
Even if Mauricio doesn't return any time soon, Baty can play second once a week, and Bichette can certainly sub in at shortstop twice a month.
