  1. Taylor wasn't calling off Lindor that time.
  2. Only 82 pitches, but that's probably it for Thorndog.
  3. Don't want to "speak" too soon, but he looks stronger in the seventh.
  4. After six, he's up to the lofty average of 11 pitches per inning.
  5. This one is moving along at a torrid pace.
  6. I hate the governing of the game by pitch counts, but ... averaging 9.75 pitches per inning is pretty encouraging.
  7. This Andy Green fella has Zach Short fever.
  8. After two series where they were hitting regularly with runners on, this series is a kick in the face.
  9. Looking at too many strikes today, gents. Too, too many strikes.
  10. Glad to see Bichette getting pitched around, but I give this ab to Young.
  11. In contrast with the Royals, I think Seigler and Durbin are the only US-born players in this lineup.
  12. That is the nickiest of a nicked corner that any ABS has ever rewarded a team with.
  13. A rip on the screws that goes up the middle is turned into an out by Short, but a doink off the handle is a double.
  14. Young should probably have gotten that at-bat that Waggy just took.
  15. Ronnie says "his people" don't have a version of "L'chaim." "Ke ola" is the phrase he's looking for, unless he means his Boston people, in which case there are about 500 versions available, including "L'chaim."
  16. Good malapropism by Ronnie, calling the 1986 Mets "The Ringling Brothers Family Circus."
  17. First guy I saw tag from first to second on a fly to shallow left. Don't matter as he scores on the homer anyhow.
  18. As long as it isn't Shit-Day Freddy, I'm a happy beaver.
  19. Five K's is good. Having to load the bases on the way there, not as much. Also good and not so good is trying to use the All-Star break to get rest for guys you signed to be All-Stars.
  20. Is there word that he's hurt? He hadn't missed a game and now he's riding pine two days in a row.
